Honestly this doesn't look too far off. I am surprised State doesn't outrank Ole Miss though; given their larger engineering programs. That tends to result in quick and easy graduate placement into fields with above average comp.

Middle of the pack is huge. Tate doing work

Take out the success in sports and LSU is much lower.

yet every metric says other wise. let me guess...you think going to work the trades is the best path forward? prolly think everyone that goes into a trade will get to open a business and be successful too huh?

Tulane doesn't divulge information to USN&WR for its rankings, I doubt it divulged any information to the WSJ. So those in state rankings are meaningless.

For many and perhaps the majority of incoming freshmen I see the trades as the best way to make a livable wage without incurring 100k+ of debt upon graduating.

I was a bit surprised Alabama was ranked so slow but getting work is a bit of a chore compared to La. and Texas. I would steer my kid to A&M over Alabama even if A&M is a partial scholarship assuming there was no interest in LSU.

I hire someone every other week or so (finance). I couldn’t care less about a degree unless they have no experience. Experience trumps everything. The degree will just get you in the door at a little higher price point.
That being said, I don’t hire Alabama grads. Never have, never will. If I have reason to suspect you’ve ever been an Alabama fan, you aren’t getting hired either.

Don't hate me for it, but add Aggie to that short list as well.
From a purple and gold sports perspective, I hope they all get dick AIDS in a car fire.
In real life, they are an excellent choice for your kids education. A conservative (relatively speaking) institution top 50 nationally in the heart of conservative Texas in a relatively small town with a low crime rate and an absurdly safe campus. The cult like atmosphere goes a long way for a long time if you are going to have a career within the state as well.
And with the school as large as it is, the cringe Aggie stuff isn't as prevalent campus wide as its portrayed.

Tulane is miles ahead of every SEC school besides Vanderbilt and it’s not even close.
The University of Texas at Austin is ranked higher than Tulane University in the 2024 edition of Best Colleges by US News & World Report

Based off WSJ’s criteria, A&M is most likely buoyed by Petroleum and other Engineering programs.
They have the “big money” donors supporting their academics across the board. If they only had female cheerleaders….

So why the Auburn logo?
Auburn undergrad, two grad degrees from Texas. Wife went to ATM and Texas, kids going to/graduated from ATM, may end up at Texas for grad school. We are a mixed up family.
