They shouldn't talk about this kind of stuff in writing. Use a burner phone.

Universities as a whole are a money grabbing joke these days. The whole thing is a shakedown with very little care for the education of the students. It’s massive bureaucracies expanding and funding themselves in any way they can, and they are getting more and more desperate for cash

Although it is unseemly and undermines the notion of an academic meritocracy, I doubt there is anything illegal about considering financial contributions in making admissions decisions.

I'll let you in on a little secret: every single school in America except the military academies has a dollar amount that will you get you in.

I wasn't happy for him then, but I'm glad it worked out that Coach O didn't end up with that job.

That place is run by knuckleheads, clearly.

There are ways to do it that won't raise an eyebrow. This was just brazenly stupid all the way around.

Honestly I'm not sure why it's such a big deal. Their huge dollar amount opens doors for who knows how many other students, so who cares if a rich kid gets in because of it. The school is financially better off which benefits all of it's students.

By hiding baller admits on athletic teams, it takes a slot away from a legitimate athlete. And the boosters, (and there are boosters for minor sports too, I know someone who donates big $$ to LSU women's golf) deserve to know whether the team is real or a sham.

As an alum, I could give a rats arse that they allow people in whose parents gave a ton of money to the school as long as they still let in the qualified students and don't screw them over.
The biggest issue I have is that it's all about the money for the school. Everything has a price yet, they are one of the cheapest schools around for scholarship money. They have a $5.1BN endowment that is growing every year. Spend some on the students and less on the buildings.

The reason colleges are so bad these days is because they let poor people in then they have to water down the difficulty for the naturally lower iq poor people

Pretty much.

And OP, you don't need to say USCw. No one thinks of the gamecocks when they see USC.
