Questioning and calling out a sitting president is one of the most American things we can do as citizens of this country. It's a lot better than being brainwashed by a president that no matter what he does, you'll agree with him. Nine pages in, but just wanted to get my thoughts down:
I don’t like this attack, and I wish it hadn’t happened. With that said, I think it might work. Iran isn’t a bullshite grab bag of tribal warlords pretending to be a country. They are they shrunken remnants of a once proud empire. There is a national pride there that has never existed in some other parts of the Middle East. Further, before we destabilized them in the 50s, they were already a functioning republic. There’s also currently a grassroots protest movement on the streets that has been going for longer than anyone thought it would.
Combine that with an international paradigm in which much of the ME (SA, UAE, Kuwait) have decided they like being absurdly wealthy more than they like Islam; combine that with Egypt and Jordan being tired of Palestine and SA being tired of Iran; combine that with Pakistan raining hellfire down on Afghanistan; put it all together, and the Islamic theonomies might just be tired of the Islamic theocracies shitting in the punchbowl.
So again, I don’t like it, but think it might work, and I sincerely hope that it does.
