Seems like a free-for-all clown-world out there.

Raiding of the US treasury with no accountability or consequences for anyone involved.

I just don't know how it happens.

DOGE was a joke.

The corruption is so engrained between corporations and our government, I don't know how any 3rd party oversight doesn't get immediately corrupted.

The money is just too much.

If there was, politicians couldn't funnel money into their wives', children's or family members' pockets.

The only surprise in this story is this broad isn't connected to some Indiana political figure.

Gaining the system and our tax dollars are giving them generational wealth. Criminals.

How can you fault her for greed, she played by the rules. The politicians fleece us every single day and no one blinks and eye, we do nothing about it.

But yeah, let's bring out the pitchforks when a regular person does it. Cry me a river. Good for her.

There is a significant difference between a normal person not paying their taxes and straight up stealing from other taxpayers.

Using government incompetency is not an excuse. Its theft of taxpayer dollars and she absolutely knew it.

"Home healtcare assistants" will be the real fraud goldmine – people getting paid to look after family members who don't really necessarily always need it.

Some ungodly percentage of new jobs created in New York City in the last few years have been home healthcare assistants. Last time I drove around Atlanta, the little yard signs and billboards were everywhere.

It isn't theft in any way. She played exactly at the top end of their rules, billed what they allowed. You can argue morality, maybe, but when you watch the government steal from you every day, I don't blame her at all. Get rich like them.

It's theft in every way. Just because our government doesn't call it theft, doesn't mean it isn't.

Yes. The government steals from me. And she stole it back from the government.

My money still got stolen I'll blame her.

Doesn’t seem like any rules were broken by Mitchell.

Unless she bribed officials to get the contract, I’m not mad at her. Blame the state here. At any point they could have found another provider.

At some point she should have had moral or ethical concerns about her ability to just keep increasing rates for reimbursement. It seems like she just kept pushing to see how high she bill and get paid. She obviously didn’t have the same level of business expenses to justify the increased billing.

I don’t know enough to decide if she is a criminal, but I can and do pass judgment on her ethics and morals.

I find it interesting because we get audited by Medicaid fairly regularly and they will try to clawback over some pretty minor stuff.

I want to know who she knew to increase her rates. Cause they sure as shite aren't doing it for anyone else.

Copy/Pasted from Mrs Mitchell’s website - her value statement, presumably written with heart & soul and not AI:

quote:

Piece by Piece values integrity and compassion above all other personal values. To us, integrity means being honest (even when it’s difficult), treating others with respect, holding ourselves accountable for our actions, and being patient and flexible when difficulties arise. Compassion is the other essential component to our organization. It is not enough to sympathize with others or to have empathy for them. Compassion compels us to do something to alleviate the struggles and suffering of others. Compassion allows us to see our clients and staff as whole, complex beings with needs outside of therapy that must be met in order for them to meet their goals inside the clinic. ? We are dedicated to providing high quality ABA therapy through the use of evidence based practices in applied behavior analysis. We collaborate with a wide variety of other professionals, including speech, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, physicians, and educators to ensure all potential variables impacting the child's behavior are addressed.

Greed not even an honorable mention.

Oh that ‘integrity’ word.

It seems obvious this would happen when we dont have fixed healthcare prices.

This is no different than hospitals charging $200 for an advil.

It was an agency created under Obama that was renamed and repurposed, but it needed a more defined purpose and powers granted in legislation than the agency renamed had.

Republicans in congress (specifically the Senate) should have stopped the silent filibuster and then along with the House passed the above along with legislating in cuts to budgets equal to all the waste and fraud. Also, pass legislation to codify the executive orders that just flip flop back and forth between administrations. The Dems will do away with or limit the filibuster anyway and tried already in 2022 with only 2 now former Sen Dems stopping them. Thune and others pretending to stand on principles is basically standing on keeping status quo. Republicans are horrible at being the majority party in congress.

There was nothing better than seeing DOGE attack the bureaucracy and then seeing the establishment freak out.

Musk got aggravated by the BBB, but with the RINOs and with the silent filibuster constantly used by Dems the omnibus bill was only way to get anything passed and that has limits on what can be included and can be done only once a year.

This would stop overnight if the grant recipients information was released to the public every year without having to go through the Freedom of Information Act.
