Just saw all the cops blocking bluebonnet at I-10 just pick up and leave.

It's been a while since Baton Rouge had an 18 wheeler incident.

What do you call awhile? There are enough 18 wheeler fubars to support a whole gaggle of shysters that are running TV ads every 5 minutes and building opulent buildings

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic

Ugh. Need to run errands before leaving town tomorrow. Definitely need to go to siegen but I guess that isn't happening. Isn't there an academy out on juban? Might be easier to actually cut through back of Prairieville to go to that one than fight this traffic.

Try the academy by cortana?

It looks like surface streets are starting to be impacted. My buddy texted me and said that 18 wheelers are exiting the interstate and going down Perkins, Highland, Nicholson, etc. Gridlock is imminent.

Perkins was at a standstill by stanford about 15 min ago on my way home. Thinks its only gonna get worse

This.
Driver/Operators of hazardous material tank trucks aren't in the same category as the dude driving the moving van. These guys have to go thru special training, drug tests, etc. They're legit.
Some ding dong, prolly playing Pokémon while driving down the road, is most likely responsible for shutting down I-10.

That would require me to fight airline. If I cut through back behind prairieville I can get to juban in aboit 30 mins. I would spend that amount sitting in traffic to get to cortana, if not more. Traffic maps have surface streets looking bad too.

No way there is a wreck on I10 in BR on a Friday afternoon!

A bunch of 18 wheelers on old Jefferson too. Going 25 in a 50

Trucks need to be limited to the right two lanes in the city with a strict speed restriction.
....and they need to be forced to carry some liability insurance where they get fined $xxx,000 per hour until the roads are clear. We then take that money a build a loop.
We also need mechanical check points to ensure all trucks (specifically the old beaters that break down on the MS River bridge) are worthy to cross. When I travel from Reno to Lake Tahoe, trucks have to pull over and pass a mechanical inspection before they can cross the pass.

And there you go....
Per WAFB:
Per WAFB:

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A driver fled the scene after allegedly causing a crash that shut down a portion of the interstate, officials say. The two-vehicle crash happened shortly before 10 a.m. on I-10 in the eastbound lane near Siegen Lane. Investigators believe a vehicle ran off the road, over-corrected, then struck an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler flipped on its side, forcing the road closure.
