So, you can roll down the windows and sweat, or run the AC and hope your car doesn't overheat. How lucky do you feel today?

I somehow think we'd still find a way to wreck on such a straight stretch of road on a sunny day.

Ironic that the sign to the right of the photo says "move accidents from travel lanes"

How does that even happen on a straight road? Did he fall asleep or got clipped when trying to pass?

Trucks need to be limited to the right two lanes in the city with a strict speed restriction. They are not always at fault, but when they crash they pretty much completely obstruct commerce for hours in a region with not very good highway infrastructure.

That's going to take a little while to remove.

10 EB completely shut down after Siegen.

Let's all take pics of the wreck from the westbound lanes while going full speed so we can shut the interstate down in BOTH directions. you people are fricking morons.

Yeah....redundancy built into the street lamps in case one or two bulbs burn out.

Too bad they didn't have the same thought process when holistically organizing the regional highway infrastructure.

What kind of car are you driving Jim that would overheat? I haven't had one overheat since the 70's.

Looks like a single vehicle accident but you never know.

I think the most obvious problem these kind of accidents expose is the lack of alternative highway routes in the capital area. It's unlikely that truck's origin or destination required it to drive through the middle of the city if there were an alternate route around the metro area.

Airline Highway could potentially used now for people going around this, but it's only 4 lanes in most places with numerous traffic light and no apparent development or access restrictions. It's functionally obsolete and backed up under normal circumstances. It will be a complete nightmare this afternoon.

I remember the Top Gear episode of them just hosting drag races with ancient old trucks on a road like that without disturbing any traffic.
