Well...guess she would need to start calling all the skilled labor that keeps the world running...Doctor also as they earned their Doctorate degree in the real world!
BTW I'm an LSU grad but don't take my degree that seriously that I need a title. Although my degree has served me well I started life in a trailer park and raised by hard working blue collar parents. Never forget the people that really make the world great and don't ever take your success that seriously!
This world never ceases to amuse me!

I would NEVER introduce myself as such in public. In fact I’m always hesitant to even tell people what I do for a living
Those who do are usually thought of as being full of themselves.

No.
The PhD’s I respect all insist that you do not call them doctor.

If you hear the phrase, "is there a doctor in the house," only those who can answer the call should be called doctor.
Well, I’m that context, it’s obvious that people are looking for a medical doctor.

So now I need people to fill out a questionnaire before i can speak to them.

PhD’s like the one mentioned in the OP and people like DR. Jill Biden should be mocked and not taken seriously.
Jill Biden doesn’t even have a PhD. Calling her a “doctor” is like calling an attorney “doctor” because they have a Juris Doctor degree. Of course nobody calls attorneys Doctors just bc they have their JD.

These people love using the title “Dr.”

I have never understood this stupidity. I have a doctorate degree (PhD) and even work in academia, and I don’t even expect the admin people to call me Dr much less random people in public.
I never introduce myself as Dr. Geauxgurt when I meet people. It’s just pathetic for anyone to expect that and I hate when medical doctors expect it too.
My students call me Dr. Geauxgurt and I sign emails in response to them as such. That’s about it.

no. and most people with phd would probably be ok with that.
phd in themselves also vary with respect. you have a phd in quantum physics. respect. you got a phd in any humanity. F off.

They only people who deserve to be called Doctor outside of a classroom are MD.
Why is that? None of them need be referred in such settings except in their work.
I love the obsession some have with medial doctors being the real “doctors”. They are all degree titles. Period.

She probably would, then say “oh not that kind of doctor”, and walk away chuckling while someone was dying.

No, and if she was a dick about it, I'd ask her to call me CPA to point out how stupid it is
I’ve done that to a neighbor that is a boat captain. Introduced himself as Captain Jack Sparrow, I said nice to meet you and dropped captain and last name, he corrected me, I then introduced myself with me CPA, MBA attached. Next 2 times I saw him, reintroduced myself w CPA, MBA. Had a few neighbors hear me and start laughing.
Not sure what happened, but he doesn’t talk to me anymore

how would most people want someone who is medically trained but not an md respond to this?
as a veterinarian i would probably be able to help someone in this situation. we are all animals in the end. im not sure i would. id likely save someone, they would recover, and turn around and sue me for practicing outside of my legal bounds.

Why not? Jill is referred to as "Dr." all the time. (Turn on your sarcasm detector.)

its a shame when society has gotten to the point where you have to worry about that when attempting to help people

MLK studied Divinity
Mrs squeeze has a doctoarte in engineering.
i am studying for a doctorate in sports management.
If they earned a Phd, MD, EDD, DBA, they earned the title and they can use it whenever and wherever they want.
mrs squeeze doesnt use it unless for work. I will use it any and everywhere I can. It is something i studied for and long for. As someone who has taught in the university setting for seven years, I want that title.
