potential spin off. Would you rather get mauled by a bear or a tiger?
I see no difference.
A bear for sure. A tiger means to always kill and eat you. Bears will maul but it's very uncommon for them to eat humans. Unless of course it's a polar bear.
I read once though (i don't know how true this is) that if you're ever attacked by a bear at night, don't curl in a ball and just take it. Fight for your life because it means to eat you.

I do see a slight difference. Against a tiger, you're only fighting for you life. Against a bear, not only is victory survival, but you got something good to eat afterwards. I say this because I don't think large cats meat would cook well. Wolves are a different story, they're too close dogs, so they're practically long-pig.
But, this ain't the Stone Age anymore. We don't fight other humans naked and unarmed (except under special circumstances); why should we stoop to a bear, tiger, wolf, bobcat, or spider's level and fight on their terms?
frick that! We're the champs. Humans run this world. Those critters want take a bite outta my arse can show in their own AH-64's. Until then, they can all kiss my arse.

It’s a legitimate question?
No it isn’t, unless you’re getting a bobcat and a mountain lion confused.
I’ve been attacked by a bobcat. It hit my shoulder and once it realized I wasn’t what it thought I was, it hauled arse and was gone.

This isnt even a debate. Have you seen a Wolf in person? They are gigantic. I wouldnt want to fight off a 50 lb pitbull, much less a 130-150 lb wolf. A bobcat is tiny. Theyve walked up on me in a treestand before and Ive never even thought about being in danger. I couldnt say the same about a wolf.

I watched wolves RIP a coyote into little pieces in about 30 seconds. As much as I hate the idea of a bobcat getting it's claws into me the wolf is too lethal.

Lone wolves are extremely rare. More likely you'd be fighting an entire pack. Good luck with that.

I would take either animal 1v1 with a human, but i would absolutely take the bobcat.
You don’t want to even try to grapple with either because they would tear your apart before you could come close to a chokehold.
Your only chance is a solid kick - it wouldn’t be easy but if you timed it just right I could see doing some damage to a <30lb cat.
Even if you get a full running start and kick a wolf in the head it wouldn’t faze it.

Another one who has never actually seen a bobcat.

quote:No you haven’t. Because if you had you wouldn’t start this thread. A bobcat is the size of a beagle. It would be like fighting s big arse Tom cat. Wolves are ducking enormous, they have incredible jaw power.
I’ve seen both, but I’d like to hear what you have to say
A bobcat would bite, scratch and claw and it would be like walking throw a nasty thorn bush.
A wolf could clamp down and literally rip your arm off.
Wolves take down bison, elk and fight off bears.
Bobcats eat mice and rabbits.

I'd prefer to wrestle a cougar.

I’ve seen a pit bull slaughter a wild hog
I had 2 Brazilian Dogos for catch dogs and they struggled with a mature boars.
How did this situation go down?
Pit bulls don’t really “slaughter” they bite and don’t let go.

Canines don’t attack with claws as a primary weapon. Cats do.
Give me the wolf.
Give me the wolf.

Bigger than a beagle but you aren't far off at all.

Exactly, although I suspect the claws are on another level.

Soon as a bobcat latches onto your back and gets at your neck, you dead.
Cats are predators. Wolves are pack hunters. You’d likely scare off a lone wolf. A scared/pissed bobcat would wreck your shite.
