If there were a magic button that I could push that would eliminate all of the blacks in the south and all I had to do was put window units in my house, I would push that button 100/100 times.

Racist. This is about shrinking the population; not eliminating certain demographics from it.

Don't fricking care.

I care about the safety of my family.

2% of the population commits 55% of the murder. If they don't exist in this area LITERALLY EVERYTHING ABOUT OUR LIFE IS 10x better.

My parents did it. Bathe at night, open the windows and turn on the attic fan, then sleep on top of the covers. You get used to it I suppose.

I spent a summer in Lyon, France, in an apartment without AC. In the last few weeks, I would take a shower before bed, turning it as cold as I could handle it at the end. Slept wearing nothing but tiny gym shorts, on top of the sheets, with the windows open.

I sweat my arse off, slept very little, and got bitten by mosquitos.

And that was in fricking France

I would like to know why any settlers would have thought North Dakota, Minnesota etc were good places to settle. Much easier to survive the heat than the cold.

Considering there are many other form of A/C other then “central” A/C. I will say sure

Correct. I’d mini split my 2 story house with however many I would need. Those things are nice and work very good.

When HTS came to Prairieville after Ida the Church we were setup at had a camper for us to sleep in. Was great for about an hour then the AC quit. That was unbearable. I dont know how you people endure that post storm shitshow. I got up and slept in the mobile kitchen, it has 2 AC's and does a good job as long as the convection ovens and tilt skillet arent running.

So no I wouldnt give up AC for any reason.

Now on another note I would give up Alabama being dominant in football (as we were a few years ago) if half the students would leave. Especially the ones from NY - NJ and California. They clog up the roads and make wait times at resturants 2-3 hours.

A lot of early settlers sought climates relatively similar to where they came from as they knew what crops they could grow and how to grow them. Hence heavy Scandinavian/German influence in the upper Midwest.

Jefferson Parish isn’t New Orleans. The food isn’t as good and the people aren’t as cool

This.

The people with means to move would be the first ones gone. No AC would have the opposite effect of what OP intends.

you must cry “racism” in 2-3 threads a day. must be exhausting looking for a reason to be offended on behalf of another race.

We didn't have ac in rural cenla until I was 12 and we moved to Houston. Even our school had no ac. But we had attic fan and at night it was perfectly fine, I didn't know any different.
