The heat is protecting me personally from the bother of having to mow my lawn.

Heat and drought or just heat?

My answer is different for each.

If we couldn’t get a Rona board we ain’t getting it for this. That was peak level whining. This isn’t shite.

I doesn't protect from hurricanes, but if it would then sure.

Its South Louisiana, I sort of expect it to be hotter than the hedges of hell between June - early September.

Yes. I’ll take it 10 degrees warmer as long as it keeps them away.

No because statistically speaking you aren't going to get a major storm every year.

Let's see. It's really hot for a month and I can go inside whenever I need to cool off and get an ice water from the fridge. Or it's almost as hot, humid as all hell from the tropical cyclone that just destroyed the power grid that keeps my fridge in ice and water...

Let me get back to you.

I've transitioned from worrying about hurricanes to worrying about rednecks burning leaves.

Heat is one thing, drought is a completely separate issue. I'd be ok with a few hot days in a row if we got a 1/2" or more of rain every 3rd or 4th day.

Nah I'd take a hurricane every 5-10 years over this shite. I live 30 miles inland, what's the worst that can happen with hurricanes? Once every 20 years the eye wall passes directly over me, Electricity out for a few days and slight possibility that I have to get some minor roof repairs? Speaking for myself of course, but yes I will take that over this heat for 3 months every year.

If we had these heat domes (which are happening all over the world) every year, humans would be extinct in less than 14 years.

Hard to explain the physics of it.

Days like this I really feel for the tankerman out there. I used to do that, asphalt barges. A 100 + August day on a barge of hot asphalt loading or unloading ,that heat going through you from boot to hard hat. Unreal.
