Have you ever heard of a Golden Retriever who ripped a child’s throat out?

Does jumping on me as a kid when I tried to play or practice anything in backyard that involved a ball and then when my mom would come out to see why I was yelling to bring dog back inside immediately becoming completely calm & obedient making me look foolish every time count?

That and being dragged across some yards when trying to “walk” our Golden on a leash once is about the closest thing to danger I ever had with a Golden?

I could be wrong, but I think the breed was around way before the movie.

And now that you’ve had it for awhile, what does she do with/for the dog besides post pics of it on facebook?

It always blows my mind when men let their wives choose a certain breed of dog just because it’s the popular thing to do these days... not just talking about golden doodles, same shite with all those little ugly arse lap dogs too

We have a six month golden retriever and a 1 year golden doodle. Both are great. The Doodle wasn’t anywhere near 3k though

Homeward Bound was popular WAY before Airbud was

Do you remember The Incredible Journey? This was the original Homeward Bound.

Look at them when they’re puppies, they’re so cute.

"Snowflake" doesn't work here as an insult. I'm mocking you and your dumb question. I'm not offended, I'm laughing at you.

I was the 144th downvote. I’m not a big pet lover but a golden retriever would be my choice. Super smart, loyal and loving animals.

Good troll, if that was your purpose.

beautiful dogs but I feel like only people who live in 600 Sqft apartments own them.

The one negative you could say about them is the shedding

And that is the main reason why Goldendoodles and Labradoodle now exist. I've had 3 Labs. Awesome dogs, but damn do they shed. I've got two goldendoodles now. They don't shed and have all the qualities of a golden retriever but no shedding.

We have one of each but the Golden is about four and the other is about two.

Both are smart but the Golden Doodle is off the chart. She is the only dog I ever had that actually watches tv. She has become very good at escaping her kennel by hatching both latches and a strap and has been the easiest dog to train.

We’re actually starting to look for a golden now that our youngest is almost out of diapers.

We’re in NOLA. What are some quality breeders we should look into?

Air Bud isn't even the best Golden movie, Homeward Bound much? Shadow was awesome.

Also Goldens typically are in the top 5 of most breed IQ tests.

I'd take a herding breed over it though, not a fan of sporting temperament.
