I've noticed Georgetown mentioned alot but i feel like you have to be really absent minded to get caught there. The cops are generally pretty easy to spot. Olla can burn in hell. Douches duck out in parking lots and pop anything that even sniffs above the speed limit.

Gilbert. Southbound on LA 425 was 65 to 35 in about six feet around a curve before it was widened.

Golden Meadow is legendary though.

Washington is a shell of its former glory.

Any cop who gives a ticket for this deserves to literally die. I don't believe this happened though because no one this shitty can exist.

Wife gave a friend a ride home from Tech years ago as a favor and her friend was kind enough to let her find out about the drastic speed limit drop on her own. And her friend even followed that up with letting my wife pay the entire ticket.

Wasn't there a law passed to crack down on speed traps a while back? Something like any ticket for 10MPH or less over the limit and the funds go to the state. Are they just writing them out of spite now?

They just write the ticket for a higher speed. If you get caught up in the Henderson speed trap getting on or off the bridge, they give you a ticket for at least 15 over so the DA won't drop it down or anything. They got me for 5 over, and said I was 15 over.

You can believe it because in 20 years of traveling that hwy I can count on 1 hand how many times I've seen a vehicle pulled over in golden meadow. Thats no bullshite either. I hardly ever saw a cop in the vicinity.

Entire West Baton Rouge parish on i10. They have a system of sitting on i10 West in the dead center, pull someone over, then head to the median in the woods, trap i10 east then after pulling someone over, go back to the center for i10 West. They will easily do it for 8 hrs straight

Yep they are always at the base of the bridge.

One time they were parked in the median at night, lights off, and their cop cars are black. Couldn't see them until you were right up on them. Wondered if that could be argued as entrapment.

pleasant hill, la, dear mother of god what a racket they have there, beware!
will write you up in a heart beat, invite you just down the street to meet the mayor IF she is in her office and not at her day job.

will tell you that your fine is over $220 for going 5mph over as you are naturally slowing down as you enter town, knowing posted speed sign is hidden by big arse pine tree.

To make matters worse and insulting to one’s intelligence, police lady offers a discount and reduced charge to a non moving violation “so it won’t be going on your record so your insurance company won’t be finding out” IF you pay the fine now and “we take cash only cus dat debtic machine be broken”.

Ah, no thank you, I’ll wait and have my time in court and pay after. To which police lady says, “ok, just want you to know the mayor is also the judge (executioner) and she don’t be liking to spend her time in court when she can be making more money at her day job, bs, bs, bs...”

Then po po lady has the nerve to attempt to interrogate me and ask “where abouts you be headed?” To which I asked if we were done so I’ll be on my way if that was ok. I sensed she didn’t see many folks coming through her little slice of hell and was lonely....

Holy shite, really makes you look forward to traveling thru that backwater arse pit anytime soon...

The answer is most small towns that have a highway that allows them to issue tickets to non residents for purposes of revenue.

Also allows Chief to get re-elected cause he’s not ticketing his voters.

speed limit is not 65. if it is a two lane road, it is 55 or less throughout the state

Golden Meadow. I used to set my cruise control 1 mph below the limit and stay in the right lane when I'd drive through there heading to Port Fourchon to go offshore. Always had a cop sitting and waiting.

I purchased a Dash Cam with a GPS that records speed, audio and date/time stamps you just because of an obnoxious Trooper just outside of Ruston that overstated my speed by 5mph. Motorists are ATM's for these municipalities and parishes. I'm sure the state gets their cut too.
