Abscess in the palm of my hand. Doctors says, were just going to poke it with a small needle, tiny poke. She commenced to carve into the center of the damn thing with a scalpel without a fricking wipe of novacaine. If I had been standing, my knees would have buckled.

I forgot about another one. I was playing softball in a beer league right out of college. I grew up playing baseball, so I just slid instinctually on a play at 3rd. Wrong move, I was wearing shorts. Wasn't my first strawberry, though, so I just kept going. Got home a couple hours later and showered, only to find clay embedded in my calf.

Well, it got badly infected the next night and was starting to throb. In my haste to slow the infection, I wet a rag and dumped salt onto it then slapped it on the wound. Yeah, salt in the wound made a whole lot of sense after that.

Migraine

Eta a close second is muscle spasm in my TMJ. That happens every now and then and stops me in my tracks.

Torn muscle in my back. Got it from slipping on ice. It’s a sharp shooting pain that shows little. mercy. It was very debilitating for a while.

I had the UPPP. Tonsils, adenoids, uvula, all removed at age 34. I wouldn’t wish that on any adult. Kids don’t have it near as bad, adults it feels like your drinking liquid fire when you swallow your own saliva. Hell it hurt when the liquid lortab hit it. Nothing would take the pain away, ate mush for 3 weeks.

They are considering taking out my tonsil and adnoids and I'm an adult. I heard it's much worse. I'll probably do it, but I'm not looking forward to it for sure.

L4 disk. Way pass needing a shot to relive the pain now that I am in. Had it to the point I cried like a baby laying on the ER room floor at OLOL for a hour+. Had to craw on the floor/ground just to get to the car and the wife had to pick me off the ground.
Hear you. See my post above. People who never had this can't even imagine what it's like.

1. Pain killer shot into my palate. Was akin to torture.
2. Fingernail was ripped off when a drill binded in a joist.
3. Sat through my daughter's dance recital.

When I was younger, I had the bad habit of holding my shits in. But sometimes, when you were riding bikes with your friends out in the woods, you had no choice but to hold it in - especially if you didn't feel like popping a squat.

Anyways...one night in the summer of 2001, I was woken up by extreme abdominal pain. It was so painful I was screaming and my dad sped me up to the ER. Turns out holding in your shits caused a lot of back up and that was what was causing my pain. A suppository was administered and that was that.

For me
1a. Having a giant inguinal hernia reduced
1b. Having a tooth drilled on that wasn’t numb.

Distant 2nd is kidney stones

Kidney stone was the worst, but a shot of anesthetic into the tear duct area of one of my eyes was pretty painful for a brief moment.

The inguinal hernia happened when I was 13 years old. On a Friday afternoon, I had helped my uncle with grinding tree stumps to clear his yard. For those of you who’ve never done that, it’s important to clear out any rocks from the base of the stump before you start grinding, otherwise it can fire out rocks like a shotgun. Plus it tears up the blades.

Well I swung my pick under what looked to be a small rock, but it wouldn’t budge. So I regripped and heaved with everything I had. Again it didn’t budge, but I felt a searing pain shoot through my groin.

Fast forward to the next evening. Im about to jump in the shower after a double header in which I was the catcher for both games. As soon as I take off my sliding shorts and jock strap, that searing pain hits again and I my ballsack starts swelling.

A whole lot of swelling. Within a few minutes it’s somewhere between the size of a softball and a volleyball.

A rapidly expanding scrotum does not feel good, but I can’t even describe the deep visceral pain that flooded my body when that ER doctor reduced the hernia, ie shoves my intestines back up into my abdominal cavity. Like getting my testicle smashed with a sledge hammer.
