Toss up between dislocating my shoulder and recovery from surgery to repair fractured femur.

Tearing a thumbnail out by the roots and exposing the bone, coolant burn up in the armpit or broken sternum and multiple broken ribs were all pretty fking gnarly at the time. Flip a coin as to the worse but I’m still kicking, so far

Alcohol on a freshly broken eardrum. Made a burst appendix look like friendly tickling.

Had a completely herniated disc that broke into pieces and pushed into my nerve canal. Constant constant pain. Felt like my arm and back were being electrocuted and set on fire. Happened at the beginning of Covid and they kept pushing my appointments back to help people with Covid, I dealt with that shite for over a month.

Natural childbirth….no meds. Extremely painful but once it’s over you feel great.

I had a tooth ache so bad I was trying to convince a coworker to pull it with a pair of channel locks (working out of town) finally got to the dentist the next day and made him pull it with no numbing or anything. Aside from kidney stones this was the worst.

When I was a young lad, I had to go to Boston Childrens hospital for a pretty major surgery. They cut my chest open and basically moved my rib cage up.
The day after surgery I got sick off the anesthesia, jerked up to vomit and ripped 2 stitches!
Mother frick that hurt, 3 shots or Morphine later. ...

I’m a woman with kids, but the worst was when one of my horses, a Warmblood (aka fancy draft x riding horse cross, so biiiiig mothafricka) lost his shite over a cross-country Eventing course and threw me like a rag doll. He never acted like that before or since, so I think something must have stung him.
Anyway, I shattered my collar bone, quite a few ribs, and a couple of vertebrae. Ended up in a body brace for 6 months and my collar bone didn’t heal for almost a year (despite the fragmentation, the specialist recommended against surgery - oops). So yeah, no matter how safe your horse seems, anything can happen.

until I tore my MCL. By far the worst pain I’ve ever had.
Really? I'm sure it's different for everybody and I know the MCL can have different severities of being torn but while tearing mine definitely hurt I wouldn't describe it as especially painful.
Mine wasn't bad enough to require anything but PT and time so maybe yours was worse or something

I cut my finger off and had it re attached. The dressing they packed around it imbedded itself in my finger when all the bandages were removed the pain and smell was almost unbearable

Two things:
1. Dental shots into my palate.
2. Ripped a fingernail off.
I’ve led a particularly rough life for a modern American. I’ve broken ribs, torn ACLs, had all my front teeth knocked out in a fall, worked as a laborer and suffered numerous injuries, such as smashing a finger with a hammer, but these two were far and away the worst.

Can someone who has been shot with a gun please chime in? Always wondered the level of pain getting shot would bring on
I’ve been around two people who were shot and, judging from them, it was a nothingburger. One was shot in the foot, and the other in the belly with an exit out the scrotum. Neither were in much pain. Both had medical care within about two hours, so the wounds weren’t allowed to fester, which would probably have been bad.
But I guess it depends on where you are shot.

Knee injury. Cliche but true - an old football injury. It gives me sporadic problems and need to be careful to keep it from locking up.
