That sounds hellish. We're they able to treat or remove it? How does this tragedy end?

Puss moth caterpillar ?? sting, on hand while on roof putting up Christmas lights. The Pain was searing and went up my arm to my shoulder, I could barely climb down the ladder and I thought I was having a heart attack.

Kidney stones by far....

Worst constant pain: abscessed tooth that required root canal.
Most intense pain: Prostrate infection. When I roll over in bed it hurts so bad, it takes my breath away.

Lower back disk slipped, pressing nerve. I was screaming in pain for over an hour before I fell off my bed, blacked out, woke up, couldn't move without putting up with extraordinary pain and it took me another hour to get myself to my bedside phone cord 2' away, pull it to me and dial 911. I blacked out and next thing I remember was being in an ambulance and an EMS tech telling me I was getting a morphine drip and would be better soon. I passed out, woke up and was in a hospital and strapped down to prevent movement.
It felt like someone had taken an 12" ice pick, used a blowtorch to get the pick red hot and then shoved it up the center of my spine. It was unbelievable pain like can't be described. I was a single digit handicapper before. Afterwards, my entire golf swing changed as my body adjusted and I picked up an average of 10-12 strokes on my game.

I was actually relieved when the doctor team told me what was happening. Finally, I knew and could prepare mentally for the battle ahead. Plus, they had me on dilaudid and the pain was bearable.
I met with an Emory oncology doctor in my room later that day. She had consulted with my original oncologist and gave him the news. They decided that my treatment plan could not be managed outpatient at his office because it would require many inpatient overnight stays over months of treatment. So Emory took over my treatment and care.
I was given a 35% survival prognosis.
The treatment was to be very intense , much more so than what I had the year before during bout one. I had 4 months of a Hyper CVAD chemo treatment that was administered in my room at the hospital. I would come home between treatments for about 2 weeks and then go in for a week. They also did 15 radiation treatments directly to the tumor. Because of where it was located, they were concerned that small cells might have already migrated up my spinal column into the brain even though none were detected with the scan. So I got 8 radiation treatments to my skull and had a chemo port surgically attached to my cranium. They administered the chemo to my head via that port.
All of this was to culminate with a stem cell transplant. Because of my age at the time(42), I was able to harvest my own stem cells and be my own donor unless I didn’t produce enough. Fortunately, I was a stem cell machine and what they said usually took 4-6 hours was harvested in about 2. They froze them and stored them in preparation for the transplant scheduled a month later.
The final prep (the week prior to the transplant) was 2 days of high dose chemo and TBI (Total Body Irradiation.) Basically zapped my whole body front first and then back two days in a row. Took about an hour each day. The goal being to kill all the bone marrow in my body to start fresh with the new stem cells.
Then the transplant was done in my room under the supervision of a medical team. It went well with no rejection issues. I stayed at Emory for 2 weeks afterwards and then they released me to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge that was about a mile away. I live about 52 miles from Emory so that qualified me to stay close by at the lodge. I was supposed to be there 3 weeks but they let me come home after 2 weeks.
I spent a long time self rehabbing at my pace. Really took about a year to get back to feeling strong again but there were damages that were irreversible such as my leg, thinner hair from the head radiation, residual lower back pain from scar tissue, etc..But ten years later and I am fine. Have seen my kids who were (2, 6, 10, and 12 at the time) grow up. Oldest just graduated from GT. My career picked up where it left off, etc..
But to the premise of the thread, I can’t imagine enduring worse pain than I did for those months of discovery before they identified the cause.

I cant speak for me but I used to work at a hospital doing IT work and a guy came into the ER with a dislocated ankle. The guy was screaming like he was on fire. Ive never heard someone scream like that before, and have yet to this day.
You just dont hear about ankle dislocations that much.

Cystoscopy. Not the worst pain I’ve ever had but it definitely hurt for about 3 minutes. People that claim it’s painless are liars.
I wouldn’t call it painful. It was very uncomfortable and was the most intense “I’m about to piss everywhere” feeling I’ve ever had

I had completed some volunteer work on the local HS press box after a FNL game. The only gate left unlocked was at the end of the endzone and my vehicle was parked behind the press box. I was tired and did not want to walk all the way down to the gate, then walk all the way back to my truck. So I decided to climb over the 8ft chain link fence.
Climbing up and over the fence was easy, it was the landing that got me. I jumped down from the top and misjudged my landing. I landed with both legs locked and fell on my arse. In a matter of seconds I thought I screwed up my knees and ankles but no pain. Then in a matter of seconds a gradual wave of pain I have never experienced starting to hit me and it was coming from my bung hole. It was intense and I actually teared up and almost screamed. It felt as though every internal organ in my body was trying to escape thru my bung hole at the same time. After a few minutes the pain subsided enough for me to get up off the pavement and gingerly walk to my truck.

1. Diverticulitis - that's some bad stuff
I've had it twice, first time i stayed in the hospital with a pain killer drip the 2nd I stayed home with pain Rx and wished I would have gone to the hospital.
2. I ripped the end of my finger off on a trolling motor cord "snatching it up", my sister was an ER nurse at the time and was home. She had everything in her coat pocket to fix it except pain rx.
She glued it back on, I then drove 5 hours with that sumbitch throbbing every heart beat.
