I-49 would have been completed tens years sooner if not for Alec. The old guard wanted 49 to go through their blighted properties and others wanted a loop like LC. Guess who won that battle? Alec is a clikish shithole that likes being last in everything. Former resident HSM 84

Interesting. Before my time I guess but i49 (what's actually completed of it) seems to be a pretty complicated issue for La. I don't understand why, its just a northbound interstate corridor. lol

North LA Version:
Shreveport (one of the highest crime rates in the country)
St. Joe/Tallulah (lack potable water)
Bastrop (IP left now a sporting goods store is the cities largest taxpayer)
Mansfield (grew up there and it’s just a sad, corrupt shithole)

What does this have to do with the worst city in La baw? SO much negativity on tOT, we must come together, and leave the insults for the sRant.

I think we have a challenger in Monroe.

They have disclaimers in hotels that the brown ring is fine and that even though the toilet looks like someone forgot to flush, its perfectly fine.

Pleasantly surprised by the lack of votes for Shreveport, which has sucked for years and will continue to do so.
That being said, we only have a three hour drive to the north for almost-mountains, and a three hour drive to the west for a proper, prosperous big city.

Isn't "Gateway to Toledo Bend" stenciled on that grafiti-mural thing on the north entrance to the city?

I'm willing to give Leesville an exception only because it's outside a military base. Like Fayetteville, NC, Leesville is full of pawn shops, shady car dealerships that will finance E1 and up at 28% APR, strip clubs, bars that end up on the off-limits list every so often, and women that only want you for your Tricare.
Besides, New Llano which is outside Entrance Road is worse. Quite possibly the worst speed trap ever and they purposely prey on soldiers.

The Lumberjacks were a state AAAA football powerhouse back in the day, and we could smell the papermills in the fall from my grandparents' house below Folsom.

Is whataburger completed yet? I know walk-ons got done a few years back but I hadn't driven through Kingsville in a while to inspect the whatabuger. I don't agree with the Alex has better restaurants than BR opinion someone stated earlier but there are really good places to eat all over the area, but most are not going to be found just driving through. As I said Verona's is the best Italian (outside of Nola) in the state in my opinion although Lil'Italiano in Bossier is close.
