Honestly I'd have a hard time finding a place worse than South Louisiana

Pretty much everything about being here sucks, but it's where my roots are and where I'm employed. Hoping my kids will go out of state for college to break the cycle

Have to disagree here.

Hard to beat areas like Jackson, Dubois, Lander, Pinedale, Alpine, and Cody (just to name a few). The beauty of those areas can't be beat (except for maybe Alaska). You have hunting, fishing, and lots of other outdoors things in those areas. Sure the winters may be cold, but they aren't as bad as most people think.

have the worst combination of weather and topography year-round?

The MS delta is pretty shitty.

There is a giant section in the middle of the country that's just fields. KS, OK, IA, NE. The plains will get shite on because of the weather but at least there is scenery to look at. Driving through west KS makes me think i have been transported back to the 1800s

Nope…lol. Didn’t care much for Pendleton. Was there for SOI and briefly with 1/4. I got to Lejeune as fast as possible. The stumps are beautiful, if you have the chance to really see the place. Did four CAXs and was a coyote my last one. Was able to go all over. Joshua Tree is amazing, and went back there to train on the boulders. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Lander is cool for a couple days. Then the hipsters start driving you crazy.

Jackson is what Jackson is.

Doubois and Pinedale...ok, not much there. If it weren't for the Paradise River, I would never go to Pinedale.

Overall Utah is much, much more scenic and yeah, winters in Wyoming ain't that bad...if you enjoy -40 with 50mph winds and roads they refuse to use salt on. Yeah, totally no issues.

Lake Charles to Beaumont

Zero redeeming qualities

Good fishing
Chaba Thai in Beaumont is legit

That's about all I got, but I can think of worse areas of the country.

Draw a polygon with Odessa, Denver City, Artesia and Pecos as the four corners, and you've got a pretty brutal region. Would not want to be a resident within there.

its a pretty god-forsaken barren piece of rock. i never felt so disconnected from humanity as i did driving across that state.

Saw an honest to goodness tumbleweed when I drove through a few years ago. I didn't even realize that tumbleweeds were a real thing before that, I just thought they were in Westerns. i also saw what was probably a coyote with mange but looked like a damn chupacabra in the middle of the night. Weird place.

I moved here, and I agree with you.

flat. no grass or trees. no water.

hail storms in spring
110° in Summer.
low 20's, sometimes teens in winter
Sandstorms all year long.
