Ireland legalized abortion in 2018, I doubt anyone will care. They'll just call it early euthanasia for the children, since they were going to turn out to be no good anyway. <- says prog globalists.
It’s highly likely none of these children were aborted. They most likely died of natural causes.

OK so Ill bite and ask the question: What's the big controversy if this is all true then? If the nun(s) weren't killing the children and the home itself wasn't fully responsible for their deaths then is it the fact that they just buried them in mass graves?

Officials in Ireland began work Monday to excavate the site of a former church-run home for unmarried women and their babies to identify the remains of some 800 infants and young children who died there.
It's no different than doing so with remains found at Pearl Harbor, for example. They just want to be able to try to identify these babies. At least that's what I got from the article.

Catholicism: Abortion is wrong. Make women give birth so we can sexually abuse and kill them ourselves.

I can’t believe a house full of nuns had to bury children who no one else wanted during a span of time when child mortality rates were very high in a poor country.
We need to identify these kids so that we can inform the descendants of the people who gave up or abandoned these children in the first place, because the nuns taking the time to make death certificates for the kids isn’t enough!

lol was coming to warn you that GR tiger would be here soon to justify why it’s okay. I see she beat me to it. Catholic cult at it again.

Is the implication that the nuns murdered them?
Would be interesting considering there are death certificates.
If they murdered them all, why perform the death certificates?
This was an orphanage in Ireland during one of the most tumultuous period of the 1900s.
Right.
Did they die of natural causes and just not get proper burials? A lot different than them being murdered.

yeah but when you have leadership that knows about horrible actions and covers it up it's an institutional problem, not just a single person problem. Not saying that was the case with this specific incident but there is plenty of coverup type stuff in the church.

justify why it’s okay.
I have family in Tuam and may be related to some of those babies.
Society was different then and the blame should not be totally on the Catholic Church. Irish society (or many western countries for that matter) didn’t want unwed mothers out and about. Parents didn’t want shame brought upon their families so they sent their daughters to these homes. The British government didn’t want anymore Irish bastards running around either.

From the article: "A major inquiry into the mother-and-baby homes found that in total, some 9,000 children died in 18 different mother-and-baby homes, with major causes including respiratory infections and gastroenteritis, otherwise known as the stomach flu."
In all likelihood, this was probably hell on earth for the adults involved. Helpless to save these children.
Instead of seeing this as the tragedy it is and focusing on the work these people are doing to give them proper burials, it's just another opportunity for the media to generate controversy and get jackasses on the internet arguing about religion and ideology. Mission accomplished.
