Words I see people type out and wonder how they ever progressed through school:
Chocked- how is this even a conscience spelling of choked?
Helment- where did this"n" come from in the word helmet?
Loose- for the word lose
Rouge instead of rogue
Did their teachers never correct their misspellings and just let it go? I would be red marking them into embarrassment. Loose and Chocked are the worst.

I can't properly pronounce "ask" and I always say "ax"
I also struggle to pronounce the T in words like credit and strawberry and it always sounds like a K

I used to say "grine meat" when referring to ground meat because it's what my mom always called it. I actually argued with my wife early in our marriage about it because I thought I said it right. I still catch myself wanting to say it to this day and I'm 45.

I have an employee who will sometimes say "Pacifically" instead of "Specifically". I can't bring my self to correct him.

It’s weird how folks sometimes incorrectly process words.
I’ve heard folks use the verb “fertilize” for the noun fertilizer.
There’s the OT classics of “WalMarts” or “CDLs”, terms made plural for no reason.
Then there’s mispronunciation- “birfday” or “new-kee-ur” or “lie-berry”…

I struggle with when to use effect vs affect. Pretty sure affect is for passive use. But I’m not 100% sure.
Conscious vs conscience throws me off too. I have to really stop and think about it.

Also, pet peeves. We are on a message board where typos are common, I usually just gloss over them and move on. But sometimes it just bothers the frick out of me. Loose vs lose. They’re vs there vs their. And especially, holy shite, when there is an error in the thread title. At least get the thread title right, man! Damn.

I will admit to going with something like "impact" on occasion because of my lack of confidence that I got it right in the moment. Some things just won't stick.
