and that women can be just as adventurous as men.

The route is below. Note 90 degree turn after Turkey:

quote:

They basically hitchhiked from Denmark to Japan in a little under 100 days - supposedly on a daily budget of about $15. Apparently they wanted to show that the world is a pretty good place, and lots of people are nice - or some feel-good hippy bullshite like that. One is 26 (Amalie Fie Flamming) and the other is 24 (Thea Tolberg Møller).

Their trip included going through Eastern Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, etc.) and then Turkey, lots of Russia and Mongolia. They passed through 19 different countries.

But, they were not raped, or murdered or abducted or beaten up or robbed, and they made it.

So I can't decide if they are actually pretty inspirational and cool, or if they are just incredibly lucky morons.

As dumb as this was, the route on the map appears to avoid a lot of the most dangerous travel areas. Especially being two white women.

Except for that part where they walked along the border of an active war zone.

In other words, “out of the active war zone.”

If they brought their route south, through Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran, they would have been raped numerous times.

Notice which part of the world they bypassed on their journey.

The next one should start in Tijuana Mexico and end in tip of South America. It’s the only way to test the ‘Lucky Moron’ theory.

There are Russian troops all along the Donbas boarder. You really want to be anywhere near them with drones flying everywhere?

There are Russian troops along the Donbas boarder. You really want to be two women anywhere near a bunch of demoralized, vodka soaked, Russian men?

If I wanted to prove that the world is a pretty good place, I’d take the safest route too. Basically I’d avoid the ME and Africa as a whole.

Their route clearly answered his question. Russian soldiers are safer than ME men.
