This. I had friends that took part in the peaceful protests (and there were those that happened) in PHX over the summer. None of them were trying to say that the looting and destruction was ok with them by any means. They were appalled at that behavior like many others.

We will see on this one but the fact that some are using a lower bar than they do for traffic stops for someone trying to climb through a broken window on a barricaded door inside the capitol is really something. This officer should face high scrutiny on his decision but don’t think it’s wrong to note the rather unique context here.

Yes. I did. After one of her fellow protestors said several times that they were armed and should back off she continued to try to climb through the window. No reason for the cop to think someone bold enough to do that isn't coming through that window to have tea and crumpets.

Agreed. I'm really disappointed in the lack of accountability I'm seeing on social media.
For whatever reason people think this is a binary issue. You either excuse the looting this Summer or you excuse the Capitol Hill actions. I personally abhor both

Yes. I am. Capitol police and Secret Service are there to protect our elected officials. They had no idea that she wasn't armed and she wasn't heeding commands to stop advancing. She was attempting to illegally access an area where US Congresspeople were being held during a Capitol lockdown.
Yes, in both scenarios, I'd expect your arse to get shot for that.
