Why do people get SO involved with something like this.... what did think the result of storming the Capital would result in.... let’s be real here. There was zero way they were gonna overturn the other vote..... all they did was destroy stuff and cause a bunch of crap that wasn’t needed....

It's called a protest you dumb frick....they weren't trying to change or overturn the vote..they were just trying to delay it and cause an interruption.

I agree completely. However, the double-standard of the media in reporting this stuff — “peaceful protests” all summer with rioting and looting were justified for the cause vs. “Trump’s violent mob” that stormed the Capitol was sedition and insurrection — therein lies the bigger problem. The people are tired of being lied to by the media and by the leaders on both the left and the right.

At least the mob yesterday had their anger pointed towards the people they are actually pissed at (i.e. Congress) as opposed to the mobs this summer looting locally owned mom and pop stores when they are pissed at the police.

You mean the window to the Speaker's lobby that they had locked down due to Congressmen and Congresswomen still being inside?
Also, in the video there's a guy with the protestors who literally tells multiple people "Hey, they've got guns" when they start busting those windows and trying to move forward.
Maybe she should've complied.

When BLM protested in DC, the Capitol was armed to the teeth with troops and barricades. BLM wouldn't have made it past the first barricade before getting slaughtered. Let alone all the way to the point of breaching the Speaker's hallway. Hell, police kill anyone for less than this frequently.

What would you prefer they call it? A person is dead. The Capitol Police Department reported this morning that 60 officers were injured, at least one critically. They caused the official business of our government to be halted for 7 hours yesterday, while our lawmakers and their staff huddled in rooms unsure of what was going on. Offices were ransacked and there was extensive damage to the Capitol Building. Right wing sites, and even an active forum on this board, have been using rhetoric of insurrection, secession, and Civil War for 2 months now.
We can acknowledge there were thousands of people there yesterday that did not participate in any of that behavior, while also correctly labeling the acts of those that did.
