Search for missing Baton Rouge woman now being treated as homicide investigation

ETA: The New Orleans Police Department said the search on Lake Pontchartrain for a missing Baton Rouge woman is now being treated as a homicide investigation.

Police said they do not know if foul play is involved.

WTF?

Every death is initially treated as a homicide unless there is a proponderence of evidence at the scene suggesting otherwise

Yeah that seems odd that they would treat it as a homicide yet not know if foul play is involved

Per wafb.

What do we know about Michael Lee Farley except he's 43 and he's got a shite ton of addresses in New Orleans? Was he flipping shitty houses on the east side of the Marigny or something?

oddly enough he shares a name with a white supremacist who, as a teen, killed a black teen in the 60s. Doesn't look like it's his papa though.

Assuming she is dead, and by now it's a safe assumption, her body should have surfaced by now with the heat and decomposition taking place. That's not to say she could be easily found since that lake is one huge SOB.

Until she is recovered, they don't have much to go on except the guys word. And even then, it will all depend on when she's found if anything can be attributed to her cause of death unless it's very obvious, like a gunshot wound, blunt force trauma that breaks bones, etc.

Looks like they were romantically involved. The older guy was tired of the sugar daddy role and wanted more, she didn't.

I've seen this kinda of stuff on the ID channel.

I'm hearing that she was not dating this guy.
He was a friend.
Which may be a possible motive if it is ruled a homicide.

He probably got tired of getting teased with her fitness instructor body, going out on his boat, all the while in the friend zone
