My question is where did they find his cell phone? Because unless it was at the scene of the abduction, why wouldn't they just use locations from that just like they did to verify he was in the area of the abduction?
Arrest warrant affidavit says LE obtained or confirmed the TPOS’ phone number with his employer (at a drycleaners) and were able to ascertain the location of the phone prior to abduction. Hopefully they’re using that data from post-abduction to narrow down areas to search.

What if any charges will be filed by the owner of the van? If the body isn't located?

I read that Durand died a couple of years after kidnapping.
I can only wonder what his take would be today.

I’d nail him upside down in the top of a tree. Then I’d set the tree on fire. He’d confess before he burned. But he’d burn.

It always amazes me how the coverage by Daily Mail is 10x better than any US sources

Grab his mother and torture her until he talks

Apparently Pookie created a FB page late into his prison term.
These assholes should have zero access to social media, the internet, etc. Zero.
Not sure how that even happens.

after the first kidnapping they should have put a bullet in his head, not rely on a gang beef
But but but, at 18 his brain isn’t fully developed yet! How could he possibly know that robbing and kidnapping someone at gunpoint is wrong at that age

It’s amazing that they haven’t found her yet. It just doesn’t seem like he would have had time to anything creative with a body. Gotta be somewhere pretty obvious?

So he stalked her for 24 minutes before kidnapping her then the POS used her debt card to pull money out of the ATM.
"His bail has been set at $500,000, and it is understood that he is refusing to cooperate with police and tell them the location of the missing mother.
Abston also appeared in juvenile court records in 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999 for charges including theft, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a weapon, and rape."

The uncle doesn’t pull any punches.

'My whole f***ing family's wacky,' he said. 'They always have been. They're not beloved to me because they're nuts. It's the truth. Go check the police records for the Abstons.

You'll find they're all perpetrators of something. My wife's son stayed locked up. Mario is arrested now for drugs and carrying a gun. And Cleo, I'm 100 percent sure he had something to do with her abduction. Can I prove it? No.

The million dollar question is how many other victims does this guy have out there? This clearly wasn't his first rodeo.
Newsweek
"Abston just spent more than 22 years in state prison for another abduction. In June 2000, when he was 16 years old, he forced Memphis-based lawyer Kemper Durand into the trunk of his car at gunpoint.
Durand was "trapped in the cold darkness of his car trunk" for several hours, according to a 2013 obituary for the 73-year-old attorney by his former colleagues at the Lewis Thomason law firm. Abston and another man, Marquette Cobbins, drove Durand to ATMs where they forced him to withdraw and hand over money.
Before Abston's conviction for kidnapping Durand, he had already appeared in juvenile court numerous times for charges including theft, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a weapon, and rape, according to the lawyer's testimony. His first appearance in the system dates back to 1995, when he was only 12 years old."

This is where they should bring in a cartel interrogator. The have overwhelming evidence he did this. I bet he'd talk if he lost a few toenails.

Pookie isn't stupid. He's working with all 70 or 72 of his IQ points.
No remorse at all. This fricker isn't going to talk until he gets a lawyer, probably paid for by a GoFundMe account. And then he won't talk until he negotiates a plea bargain. This fricker needs to be put down. There's no rehabilitation for a guy who has spent half his life in prison.
And WTF?!? I can get a FB account in the penitentiary? What about PornHub?

Don’t forget that the Mississippi River is near by. It holds lots of secrets. The two duck hunters that were lost in the River south of Vicksburg have never been recovered.
