Agreed. She was being an idiot. But people don’t want any nuance in the conversation. They only see what they want to see which is only me hating on the dumbass agent when I’ve said multiple times that she was being an an idiot too. She should have never put herself into that situation.

But I also believe if these agents had proper training, this still would not have happened.

I mean it looks like she was waving ICE vehicles around.

People die over dumb shite in the USA every minute of every day.

You know what else isn’t 3rd world shite? Turning perpendicular to street traffic in your car to block the road. You know why? Because in most of the world the police would just run you over for that. I’d argue one of the only reasons she pulled that stupid shite is her freedoms from living in the USA allowed her to even think of doing that.

It’s a sad situation, but she made the decision to engage with them. She’d be alive if she had just stood on the sidewalk and protested peacefully.

By continuing to use the term “murder” you are very clearly one of these people.

It doesn’t matter you moron. She hit him regardless while being yelled at. And that’s her fault. Nobody else’s. So stop making excuses for other people’s bad choices.

I tried all day yesterday to approach it with an open mind and not jump straight to any visceral reactions

But the mixture of the agents swarming the car, reaching into the vehicle, giving conflicting instructions, standing in front of the car, shooting through the open driver’s side window after the vehicle had turned…

Combined with Trump/Noem/usual suspects rushing to build a narrative and just wildly mischaracterizing the situation to the point of borderline lying…

And then the videos of ICE agents saying “I don’t care” to a physician offering assistance while also not rendering any themselves

Yeah, this was fricked up.

She made some bad choices, too, obviously, but if she had made this mistakes with a real cop or anyone properly trained I think she’d still be alive.

A woman sitting in a car full of toys (clearly a domestic terrorist), surrounded by masked officials, clearly panicking and making a mistake, whose vehicle may have struck one of them in a non-life-threatening way, would not have been executed in a civilized country.

These protesters are not acting civilized in any way. Beyond simply obstructing law enforcement operations, they are spitting, throwing snowballs and other objects, yelling and blocking roadways. The LEO might see actions against them being “life threatening” a bit differently than you do.

She would have been arrested, restrained, and brought before a court. The officer would have had the protection of the law. Instead, she was murdered.

She, instead, resisted arrest.

When you accept lower standards for police, you accept their product.

Directly from DHS policy: DHS law enforcement officers are prohibited from discharging firearms at the operator of a moving vehicle or other conveyance

First shot went through the windshield in the bottom right corner

Find me the other two bullet holes in the windshield.

People are shot by well trained cops all the time. Following instructions, and fighting any perceived injustice later in court, dramatically increases your chances of not being shot.

He was drawing the gun before she was moving forward too. He could have moved out the way. He wanted to shoot. Yeah she should have complied. But masked paramilitary run up on you and your scared. But everyone will want to go to their arms. You can pull off and deal with pd which many would do.

1) I think the officers real escalation was standing in front in the first place.it made the decision tree much more prominently have deadly use of force featured

2) you don’t get to go insert yourself in the middle of the federal agents, spend the day actively disrupting them and then frame it as they are so terrifying that when they give you an order you have to flee from the masked paramilitary. If you are that scared observe and report from a heathy distance…. Or stay home because you are going to add not subtract volatility

Well if this is the case, why wouldn’t protestors just try to run them all over with their cars? They’d be protected from being shot.

You are a blue state slow adult.

Of course, because keyboard groomers like yourself would know exactly what to do when a raging, screaming progressive starts driving directly at you while being asked repeatedly to stop and get out of her car.

My facebook feed is loaded with idiots like this and I am loving it. The same people that were celebrating Kirk being shot and killed, celebrated the NG member shot and killed, celebrate every time a judge releases a criminal that kills someone, and then sent money to the go fund me of a kid that killed someone at a fricking track meet are now here to hold the moral high ground (among many others).

What a time to be alive.

I hope your leftist ilk burn that state to the ground over this screeching moron. AWFL are our downfall.

Let me ask you, Bard, and anyone else mindlessly defending murder: do you believe she was trying to leave?

I’m not Bard or mindlessly defending anything. I don’t know if she was trying to leave, but she had the opportunity to do that before being surrounded by law enforcement. There was a cop holding onto her car, and another in front of her, “leaving” in the direction of her he cop was a dangerous option. She needs to be accountable just like the cop that shot her.

quote:

Or do you think she was trying to use her Honda Pilot as a deadly weapon to end that ICE agent’s life?

That judgement belongs to the person who thought their life was in danger. A vehicle certainly can be a deadly weapon, and appears to have hit him with it.

Did she think this was a Christmas parade where precedent is that it's acceptable to run over people?
