I don't expect a reasonable conversation with the left on this. But if we could have one, we might discuss that it's absurd to expect law enforcement being spit on and screamed at and threatened not to make mistakes, and that it would be wise for the whack jobs not to put guys with guns in those positions constantly. It's also wise for the whack jobs not to encourage their own to block traffic and drive cars erratically or otherwise threaten/push/etc. said cops.

Well, any leftist will 100% call the cop a fascist murderer in this situation and then defend him in the exact same situation after Democrats take control again and it’s a MAGA protestor.

So you’re right, you shouldn’t expect reason from the left.

From the right, you should expect people to be a little torn between giving cops too much power and enabling cops to defend themselves and enforce the law, because that is a delicate balance that has to be argued over forever in order to be maintained.

Her goal is irrelevant. Again, intent has zero to do with the cop’s actions. Even if she “accidentally” ran him over, she’d be arrested for murder yes?

You can clearly see the driver trying to run over the agent in this video

Yeah I fully agree with that. It sure looks like she’s ignoring lawful orders in the process which makes it a very stupid series of decisions on her part that directly led to her death.

To me “deserve” is a moral question, though, and if being stupid meant you deserved to die, I’d be worried about myself, for starters

Yes, I'm not arguing that at all. I don't think she tried to hit anyone (because she reversed first) but very likely would have if the agent hadn't been quick to move. The shooting was justified.

Indeed. I don't want to excuse bad policing, but I'm also realistic. Cops will make mistakes, they're not DEVGRU out there. And making the environment worse and worse for them isn't going to make those mistakes less likely. But as we note, you can't really reason with these people.

Knowing women, I think she just freaked out and was trying to get away. Then again, who knows, and it doesn’t matter. Cops are always allowed to shoot people who put their lives in danger.

But I do think “she definitely was trying to run over the agent” is overstating the evidence.

Cops are in more threatening situations daily... they arent shooting everyone.

The Agent wont face any sever repercusions... and he shouldnt. But he probably wont be employeed by ICE again. I think most of these ICE agents are off duty LEO that are looking for extra work.

There’s a bullet hole in the front windshield that looks to be aimed right at the driver…guessing that bullet will show the officer was in fact in front of the car while it made contact with him and when he pulled the trigger.

Horrible situation but justified

She shouldn’t have been out there obstructing law enforcement in the first place

There’s being stupid then there’s blocking cops in the road, ignoring them when they ask you to get out of your car, then attempting to escape or possible run over another cop by taking off with one already at your window. Slight differences to general stupidity.

By the way. Why do these people do sketchy shite and the scream WTF WTF like they didn't expect it.

Because they don’t. When you’ve never really had to be seriously accountable for anything, getting the backhand of reality can come as a shock.

Yes! When you do finally realize you need help, or are committed and ordered help, tell them exactly this.

Well the officer was standing in front of the vehicle and you hear her gun the engine and see the officer be contacted before or very shortly after shots are fired. What exactly are you looking for?

Here you go. Watch it slowly. The agent is directly in front of the car and she gunned it.

Yeah, in this video it is way more apparent that the agent's life was in danger. You couldn't properly make anything out from that video from the trees.

On the subject of accountability, it bothers me that so many who feed the beast on this stuff (which leads to unnecessary deaths) will never face any accountability.

Media, public figures, etc. lining up to tell these people that ICE is the gestapo, that rejecting your pronouns is trans genocide, etc.

These ICE agents aren’t properly vetted these days, so there’s no telling who they really are. They could come from extremist groups for all we know.
