Really sad what’s become of NOLA. It was a great city when my dad grew up there in the 60’s through 80’s. He was there when New Orleans East was a good part of town.

Then the culcha ruined it and everything else.

I love New Orleans and I spend entirely too much time defending it on the OT, but the quarter needs to hit the reset button. I hate that area, but it’s vital to the city.

It will never change. At least not in any of our lifetimes.

Not sure why you say that. It changed for the worse in our lifetime, which means it can change back. It wasn’t so long ago that violent crime didn’t occur on Bourbon. All that really needs to happen is for the politicians to cut NOPD loose and let them run the street like they used to. This is one time where you can actually say “thanks Obama” and mean it. That Consent Decree is crippling crime fighting.

Yep many people thought that NOLA would take advantage of the god given purge but that didn’t happen with the chocolate city mayor. NOLA was handed a golden opportunity but pissed it away as usual.

Even worse, the alternative was Mitch, who told Cray Cray C-Ray to hold his beer.

NOLA is a shithole. Yes I live in BR, yes BR is a shithole and boring. But at least the real crime, the murders, etc doesn’t happen around me. It doesn’t happen near my work, it doesn’t happen near where I live, it doesn’t happen near places I go. In NOLA the crime is happening everywhere. It’s only a matter of time before every person in NOLA is effected in one way or another. It’s disgusting and I’d never want to have to accept that

If it hasn't been posted in this thread, I doubt many know it's a white guy. Thread got quiet because nobody really cares about a shooting on Bourbon anymore.

Wait until someone from BR comes in and tries to say why new Orleans sucks

A white boy shoots somebody in the French quarter.

What a fascinating sociological anomaly.

When trying to make a racial post goes wrong. Mugshot isn't in the linked article or in this thread. ETA: Until the post above me of course
