So, Americans have become more efficient due to technological advances, still get paid the same, and bitch about wages and inflation.

Essentially we’re producing more deliverables, but aren’t compensated as such because this ability is correlated with higher efficiency due to technology

Something like that. We produce more than ever, but we're also as replaceable as ever. Many, many jobs are just plug and play.

Increase labor cost via higher wages.

Decrease productivity by not overworking the individual worker.

Tell yourself whatever you like to sleep better, but union wages are keeping up with inflation. Meaning they aren't overpaid, they are paid accordingly.

(Not a union member, just know what I see)

Both of these are disputed by almost everyone that doesn't have a stake in a union

No doubt. I won't say the ranks are filled with nothing but highly productive workers.

Same is true for every non-union job I have held. There are shitty people in every position.

Unions are ideal for the below median worker, no doubt.

They suck for the high achiever.

Sure, just the percentage of those people is exponentially higher in unions and there's nothing that can be done about it.

And were not even getting into how unions have turned into quasi government bureaucracies

horseshite. They negotiate for the good of the group, not the individual. As a result, there is zero incentive to be a high achiever.

have to give the unions credit where credit is due...they fricked up Detroit so badly, that we got a lot of sweet auto manufacturing jobs here in the South...

I worked 60+ for 9 months straight, but I haven't done shite all week... I may have worked 3 hours.

I'm self employed. NFW I would work that much for someone else.

Completely untrue. They negotiate the minimum rate you can be paid. You can negotiate above that, which I have done at a previous place of employment. I saw where I was worth it, management agreed.

Well, I mean, that's kind of the stated purpose of a union so I'm inclined to no believe you.

If management chooses to do nothing then nothing can be done. Which is usually the case.

I have been witness to around 10 union hands being fired.

I would say lower education usually leads to shitter employees, but that is union and non-union as well.
