0.31" of ice

Ever driven on ice? It's like hydro planing x10. Doesn't really matter how thick it is 3/8" is plenty thick enough.

Or last summer when the whole north east was bitching about their heat wave.

I forgot about that. 93 degrees was "scorching" New York and Chicago

Yeah, that 2" of snow and 0.31" of ice sure is a doozy. How will anyone ever manage to make it til Friday alive?

,31" of ice will shut down roads in any city in the US, including the one you live in .

indeed, but no need to close the roads 12 hours before any precipitation. My lord.

You have ignored every poster in here saying this will not happen and chose to believe the one post where a paramedic claims to have information that he/she would have no business having. My lord.

Exactly. Whether the ice is 3/8" thick or 3' thick makes no difference. A layer of ice will have vehicles sliding all over the roads:

A better comparison is Cat 1 Hurricane Sandy wrecking shop in the Northeast.

It would have been business as usual in the Southeast.

I was in the Pacific Northwest driving along a icy road at 10 mph several years ago and slid into a snowbank because I couldn't stop.

I've done several 360's on ice. Usually rain on top of packed snow, its the slickest surface possible.

People can't drive any better on ice in the North than they can in the South. They just know when to stay home and not risk it.
