Will we have farms devoted to production of lab-grown meat in the future?

It’s looking that way as companies and individuals invest more money into it.

I guess it can serve a purpose such as filling in supply chain gaps for meat in certain underserved areas and making meat available for poors. It can also be used to produce meat for pet food for cats, dogs, etc.

Will these farms be eyesores? I have a feeling people will be complaining about them just like they complain about solar farms and data centers now. They’ll probably be eyesores.

Don’t think you can call them farms.

They’re growing meat

I won’t be complaining because it’s an eyesore

Better throw a knowingly in there. Do not put it above some of these duplicitous companies to throw that shite in your food without saying so.

This crap 100% needs to have very strong labeling requirements.

Best way to stop them is to tell folks that they'll consume more power and water than a data center.

No, because it's shite. The only people who are raving about it are vegans who want to force you into their culinary lifestyle so they can feel warm and fuzzy about saving Elsie the cow from being steaks and those financially vested in trying to make this a thing.

A lot of the studies touting favorability rely on hypotheticals rather than actual taste tests. That should tell you everything you need to know.

This faux meat is spongy, less juicy, has a far weaker aroma when cooked, tastes fairly bland (largely due to not having real fat/marbling) and can sometimes have a metallic aftertaste.

The phrase "don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining" is very apt here.

Where is Beyond Meat's stock price again? Oh, 76 cents. Down 99% over the year, and down 99.9999999% from the all time high.

There is a great technology out there that can turn regular grass directly into super healthy red meat. I really think it might catch on. It is called a cow.
