I can walk my dog at 2 am in Mandeville and not have any concern for my safety. That can’t be said for your precious uptown, where I lived for 7 years.

With that said, it’s a bit on the boring side and the direction St Tammany as a whole has been heading is more in line with Jefferson parish. Hopefully Cooper wins and changes that direction. He did a good job with Covington (fatman will do better).

Is there a better place in the state than Mandeville? Possibly, but it isn’t uptown.

I think with the newly developed City of St. George, if the right people get put in charge it will rival that of the Northshore in terms of quality of of life.

Dutchtown is rated slightly higher than Mandeville in the state scoring system. They are both good schools though. Madeville's mascot is gay though.

No one considers those big lake houses as part of Slidell, except the postal service. That is Oak Harbor. Slidell is New Orleans East North, post Katrina.

Your kid can start and graduate at Dutchtown in the time it takes you to get through the car-line.

Your list from Niche is a clown show. This list tells me Mandeville is better than Dutchtown and Northshore High(for that other guy), though it's probably not very significant.

SG is closer to Tiger Stadium.
Mandeville is an hour farther.

It's splitting hairs. They are both A rated but Dutchtown's score is 100.7 and Mandeville's 98.7. I'm sure there's not really a discernible difference between the two.

I know and I don't care about the state's rating system. Show me the test scores.

Besides, I'm in the Mandeville High district and I send my kids to private school.

He is a goddamn ship's captain and not some dude tip toeing through the tulips. fricking should have called them the Captain's and not the Skipper's. Would have saved me years of abuse at the hands of people who asked where I went to high school.

I dated a former skipper at LSU and used to tease her about it

Why are you eschewing the biggest benefit to living there?

Mandeville/Covington area is by far the best living in Louisiana. It would take a hell of a job offer for me to leave. For the most part traffic isn't bad, crime is low, good food/drink options, good schools, 30 min from NOLA, hour from BR, 45 min from Miss gulf coast.
