It seems like everyone who moves into our neighborhood is from out of state
They’re mostly cool but a few are weird for sure

Not sure what Louisiana has to offer that is anywhere close to New York city.

The south gets no benefit from liberal northerners moving here. We're completely different people.

Will Louisiana benefit from the Zohran Mamdani exodus out of NYC?
He could turn out to be the worst mayor of a major US city this century, and that still won’t happen. People threaten to move over politics all the time, and I feel like a small percentage actually follow through. Sure, if you are some millionaire celebrity, you just go live in one of your other houses and pay someone to sell your pad in NYC.
Otherwise, just up and moving over a mayor is probably not easy. You have to ensure employment, find a suitable place to live, possibly uproot from family. Do you have kids? Will you take a pay cut? Can you sell your old place in a timely fashion? Leave behind friends and relationships?
Again…all that over a mayor is a tough task for the average person. And IF someone is going to do that, they sure as shite ain’t going to Louisiana.

I’ll use little words so you can understand: no.

What is this? Are you readin' me a... a memo?
You're throwin' all these words at me! "Influx." "Affluent." "Economic impact."
You wanna know about the "economic impact"? You talkin' to me about economics?
Listen to me, pal. You want an economic boom? You want this state to mean somethin'? You don't need a bunch of... of stiffs from New Jersey! You think they're gonna save you? They're probably just lookin' for a place to park their yachts!
You want to fix the "decline"? You book ME.
You put my name on the marquee at the Superdome. That's your positive impact! I'm the stimulus package, sweetheart!
These 'affluent' guys... they're not bringin' business. I'M the business! This 'Tulane' school? Are they bookin' me for homecoming? No? Then who cares?
You want to save Louisiana? You write me a check. A big one.
Now stop talkin'. You're usin' up all the good air. You're boring me. Get lost.

A conservative in New Jersey, would probably be considered a democrat in Louisiana.

Left Louisiana right oit of college. Lived in DFW (Frisco) for 34 years except for a two year run in Indiana pre children.
Got tired of all of the people, tired of all of the Indians who can’t drive and the smell of curry. Tired of traffic. Moved back to Louisiana to be near family. Much lower cost of living

What doesn’t make sense to me is folks who leave a liberal state because it sucks and it’s failed its citizens only to vote liberal in their new state. I mean how can they be that dumb?

Wild hearing someone say that about NY when living in I’m assuming Louisiana. Yes the liberal policies have made NY suck and the heavily red leaning Louisiana is an Eden
