Or is the method used undiscoverable?

Was that Stradivarius supposedly hidden in BR ever found?

I've heard that one of the problems with replicating one is that he had a secret varnish recipe that gives the violins a certain tonal quality. The recipe has never been discovered.

A patient of ours years ago played had a Stradivari cello. He brought it in and played for the other patients for an hr or so . I’ve never heard anything like the music he made . Just him and his cello .

I think the quality is based around the wood density, growth rings suggest the trees had experienced the “little ice age” thus making a denser pattern

Pretty sure what was unique about them was a one or two century cold snap in Europe when the trees that were eventually used grew up. That changed the size/spacing of the pores in the wood or something, making their sound unique.

So, not likely.

Wakanda wood would work wonderfully.

its about the type and quality of wood used and the skill and craftsmanship that goes into it

it is an art form like sculpting or painting and the bottom line is they could make something on the level of a Stradivarius but the cost and time investment to do something like that would make it not worth learning how to do

They have done blindfold test with Strads, and other top violins from the last 300 years, some being new, and experts cannot pick out the strads.
It’s kinda like a Shelby Mustang Vs a new Mustang the new mustang would beat it in every way except the Shelby is a lot cooler

Must have been quite a wealthy and/or famous patient.

He was very special and made a lot of the people around him feel special . Usually around the holidays he would play his cello for us . He also had 2 Martin guitars and gifted one to this guy I know.
