Priorities, lack of focus, work stresses, kid stresses, financial stresses, etc. You name it. But the lack of taking care of one another's needs and desires only increase stresses in everything else. Being romantic with your spouse is free and should feel good, even if only for a few minutes.
But somehow, some way, other things get in the way. I see it as a lack of focus and prioritizing what is important. It's also "selfish" behavior, although if labeled that will only cause a fight.

sometimes we're so focused on the kids, house, entertaining, etc etc. we forget how much fun it is just being together.
i'm taking the blame here. i don't schedule nearly enough dates. women love that. they don't want their stinky husband to say 'hey i'm good with whatever, what do you want to eat?'

gf from LSU was the girl of my dreams, we met when I was a freshman and she was entering law school, wonderful person, great family, when we graduated we moved in together and sex life came to a screeching halt, I was frickin 22 years old, too young to retire, sadly, even though I gave it time to change, that was a big enough deal to end it for me
