Why would anyone waste their time or money on this shite? LSU is propping it up as some sort of great achievement! Unless it’s a hard science STEM degree it has zero business at a university.

Someone that just needs any degree to get/keep/advance their job.
Positions like that still exist, although they seem to be getting rare.

Government work where you just have to check the "degree from accredited University" box.

Aren't these basically just a la carte degrees?

Stem only University? Will the classes be in Mandarin or Cantonese?

Because people with college degrees generally make more than people without college degrees.

So you propose closing all business schools?

Not sure online, but nothing wrong with interdisciplinary studies.

Yeah, so... the humanities INVENTED the university. Might want to re-think that statement.

I received a 25% pay hike for getting an online management BS.

Someone please explain if you are interested in business, you don't just get a business degree? Why combine the social science?
I guess it's easier to get actually get this BS degree for these people who probably shouldn't be in college.

When you get an online degree does it say that it’s online or is it the same as getting one on campus?

Might be an easy way to transfer in some credits and take pre-requisites in order to get to grad school of some sort?

20+ years ago, a GED was all you needed to get a decent blue collar job.
Now a college degree is = to a GED (meaning that everyone should at least have some basic level of education beyond HS).
Master degrees are now the new BS degrees. Don't believe me, look at how many associate level/upper mgmt job positing are looking for those with some sort of graduate degree.
But to answer your question; LSU is a business and they're just trying to appeal to anyone who's willing to spend that $$$

Government managers who have relatives seeking employment but must have a degree to qualify.
My son, Computer Science, worked for the state of Tennessee for a few months. He said there were employees walking around who could not tell what they did or their job.

Someone who left college a few credits short of graduating, for whatever reason?

It’s like a regular degree, especially at a brick and mortar.
Truth be told, I did more work in some of my online classes at a brick and mortar because they typically overcompensate for you not physically being in class.
