There was idea to build the Zachary Taylor Parkway. That went by the wayside but I believe we should revive it and make it a toll road running from Fluker through St. Francisville west to Vinton making it parallel to I-10 taking lots of traffic off of I-10. We could then build two roads between the Parkway and I-10 one on the east side of BR and one on the West.
I think it would pay for itself quickly and would finally solve the I-10 I-12 corridor issues.

Lol and take fifty years to build and still not help BR by the time they finish,

If you're coming from the North on gameday its real convenient to cross there and hit 110, avoiding most of the BR traffic. I thoroughly approve of it

They seem to work well enough in other states. Why won’t they work here? Is the good ole boy system here gonna object. Is that what you know about how it works that we don’t?
Toll roads seem to be well received. But you don’t even want to hear about them. And people like me aren’t gonna support taxes. So what do we do?

I have no issue with tolls whether it’s btidges, loops or highways. In fact I’d look at that hard.

I think the realization needs to occur that BR is on the coast now.
Any bridge / loop / bypass below it is essentially an ‘overseas highway’ that is not likely.

I never stated that the AB was build to take any of the traffic out of BR, I was simply pointing out a HUGE investment being made in an area that has very few people and will not experience any growth to warrant it, even with this new connection, that was supposed to generate that growth.

I like both towns so no offense to residents but if New Roads and St Francisville grew 40% in a few years would anyone not living in the immediate area notice?

Under Edwin Edwards, when casino boat gamblings was put up to vote, every single tax dollar from gambling was suppose to go towards education.
New Jersey is in the second year of having legal sports betting. That alone generated billions in state taxes.
If Louisiana wasn't run by a bunch of frick ups, they would legal sports gambling before Texas so that it could gain from all the people in Texas who comes to Louisiana to gamble. I remember the one time I went to the horse shoe in Shreveport, that's all you saw in the parking lot.. Texas license plates.

Understood. But I can tell you the Consensus in New Roads is that the AB is helping their economy.
The area has grown and will Continue to do so. The West side, overall, has and continues to grow. If they had a viable travel route in addition to the existing ones, I think the growth would accelerate.
But for some reason, the local politicians on both sides of the river can’t seem to get together and move forward.

Dude you bitch about traffic and you bitch about taxes.
I pretty much don’t think I’m going too far out on a limb to surmise you would bitch about paying a toll.
And no one, including Jim Bernhard has suggested 100% privately funded toll roads in Louisiana. He suggested paying a large portion of a bridge only with government-from multiple sources, fund all else, including, engineering, design, right of way, environmental, and all approach and connector roads. A private, public partnership which I said above that you forgot to quote.

You are really a stupid person aren’t you? Airports are built with airport money. That money was profit from the existing airport. Why would airports pay for highways?
