There were other areas in the state that money could have gone to that would have had a bigger impact on that this bridge.

Somebody's brother in law in the government I'm sure. It has 2,000 vehicles per day
The new bridge in BR has 125,000-150,000

Wow. I just looked to see what the "new" bridge (Horace Wilkinson) has. In 2005 it was 107,000 daily..

Did you leave the part out about the chicken?
Posted on 3/28/19 at 7:32 pm to OweO
Same reason the chicken crossed the road

The Plaquemine-St Gabriel ferry is a mess right now.. Well not the ferry itself (they actually run two), but the traffic. This evening there was someone who rode the levee all the way to the ferry and someone let them in and people went insane.
Never understand why there is always someone who will let people who do shite like that in.

I believe that was Parish/Fed money, and not State. Someone correct me if im wrong.

This is high. 100-120K Tue-Thur Possibly higher on Friday ( Although not recently with so many people taking alternate routes ), and much less on Sat-Sun
ETA: It is the highest ADT in the state though.

It was built where the politicians wanted it.

Fun fact: the Amazon River has no bridges that cross it.

It's a beautiful bridge but not needed at all
They need a Bridge from Plaquemine to BR to alleviate some pressure

Politicians are like rotten tomatoes. None of them are good.

The Audubon bridge was built as part of the TIMED Program. The projects determined by the legislature and voted on by the citizens.

The nuclear plant required it. Escape route.

Population expectation didn't meet was was estimated.
However, changing the federal interstate system plan isn't that easy. Especially when powers that be want their guards an easier route to work.
