Relative paid good money to have a letter sent Priority Express from Houston to our home in Rapides Parish.
Mailed on Thursday with GUARANTEED delivery Saturday....it arrived on Wednesday the next week.
Now that's some incompetence right there.

I drove to Tallulah last week.... Hwy 65 is completely closed and routed me through the Town of Waterproof... Like off the highway down Mainstreet. I had a letter to mail so I stopped by the post office. The one employee was a woman who was 85 at a minimum. She was very nice, but verrrrrryyyyyy slow.

Lucky? You are statistically in the same level as a powerball jackpot winner.

I've had MULTIPLE things get stuck in Memphis sorting. I ordered a door alarm sensor to replace one that had failed and it was in Memphis for three friken weeks. Two of those after I filled out a missing package claim on the website. The very DAY that it was set to be deemed officially lost and they would pay the claim.. it showed up.

I shite you not... 25 percent of what I order online and goes through Memphis is delayed at least 3-5 days in Memphis.

When we send out cards.. even with no gift cards inside.. we have to place it in another outside envelope to disguise it so it won't be intercepted and checked.

Seems anything gov is awful and inefficient now. At one time the post office was a respectable career. Now it’s garbage.

I've visited the Memphis USPS distribution center before.

Spend 30 seconds in there with open eyes and ears and you will realize exactly why this happened.

I’m in the group that thinks the social contract is breaking down causing a flood of crappy employees (as one effect) but I have to say that for some reason my nearest post office has greatly improved over the past few years. I suspect its the effect of good people in management there fostering better customer service.

It shows that it can still be done, even if its the exception and not the rule.

Nice anecdote.
Anecdotal evidence is statistically meaningless.
I expect your frustration with your local post is because you live in a shithole state.
Businesses and bureaucracies are a reflection of the community in which they reside.
Shitty people = shitty employees = shitty results.

Sending to the NE or the Great Lakes region: forget it. Absolutely the worst and it can't be called a service.
