Why is the aliens/ufo story not a bigger deal?

Aliens!!! If this was 25 years ago it would be by far the most important story going into the summer and definitely something we would remember during our Independence Day.

It's not a big deal because we've been conditioned our whole life to believe aliens are bullshite.
It's not a bigger deal in the media because there is no proof. They can't go out with a camera and film a UAP.
The military doesn't want it out because 9 out of 10 UAP sightings are man made. Maybe 4 out of those 9 are top secret US military craft that they want to keep under wraps. The military doesn't want their own tech reported with all the rest.
It's not a big deal to normal people because our day to day life trumps any existential philosophical dilemma.
It's too big of a deal for our government to handle. They have no idea what to do, if anything.
If aliens are real, they could have eradicated us all at any point in human history. Why worry now?

Because there is going to be absolutley nothing in the report that is going to shift a paradigm or the discussion as it stands. I dont know what you people are expecting them to say other than, "we cant say what we are seeing."
