Why are there US plates on vehicles in Germany?
Same reason you’ll see foreign plates on cars in America. Some rich arse frick paid to have his car shipped over to use during their extended vacation.

I can't stand people who stop on the entrance ramp to wait for somebody to let them in to traffic.

You see I Intentionally accelerate so the merger either has to speed up to the speed of traffic to get in front of me or slow down and risk not being let in

I don't think I've ever seen that in the US

It is extremely rare, and the likelihood of that guy's story being legit is super low.

Oh it’s definitely not common. I’ve seen only 3 or 4. All exotics, all from the Middle East

Military issued plates. They used to actually say USA and AD or AF.
Now they're same as local plates unless your US spec vehicle can't fit a long euro plate as was case this morning case. Usually you can pick out the Americans by make/model and tag from towns with bases.

No... your dash cams will show that you failed to merge safely and caused an accident.
The driver's own dash cam cannot be compelled as evidence against him.

Good thing he isn’t the only one with a dash cam

Pretty much. They're not as common as you think, and you have to find the person who has one. Whomp whomp
Oh wait, maybe you can call the CIA and have them send you their satellite feeds

If the speed limit is 75 you better be out of the way or doing 75.
I'll do 80+.

Houston has this issue figured out. Louisiana loves to leave you 50 meters to get on or crash or brake completely.
Posted on 1/31/20 at 10:59 am to WaydownSouth
Because when they took their driving test . . . .
Oh wait never mind.
That will be $40.
Next, Number 350

First off if you can change to the left lane safely do it, as it greatly decreases chances of an accident. If it’s a 3 lane or more the right lane isn’t the normal lane, it’s for entering and exiting the highway. The middle lane(s) are the normal ones.
And the person merging should use the merge to get up to highway speed. And you should use best judgement whether to slow a bit or speed up a bit to ensure there is a gap for him to merge into either in front or behind you in the case that you can’t change lanes.
You don’t own the highway and neither does he. Stop thinking you don’t have to do anything to help him out. Driving is all about being alert to your surroundings and courteous to other drivers, and doing everything you can to avoid causing a dangerous situation.
