Why is it acceptable for men to be gross in most cultures but not women?

Men keep their houses messy, they burp/fart in front of other people, some go several days without taking a shower, they let their facial hair/ body hair grow out, etc. We usually see this as perfectly normal, and we even expect it.
However, if a woman does any of the things mentioned above, she is usually looked down upon by others and shunned by most people. How did things get to be that way?

It's the basic nature of the two from the very premise of survival via reproduction of the species.
Procreation dictates that men grind, grunt, drool, sweat, and squirt messy, sticky, stuff in and all over them and the women have to be clean and smell good or men don't want to go near it to begin with.

I dont know but I fart in front of my wife all the time but if she ever farted in front of me I would be grossed out and pissed lol.

Women are by far the messier of the species. But being the fake bitches they are, they hide it better. That is until you move in with them and they can't hide it anymore.

The three nastiest cars I have ever seen belonged to women. I'm talking literal rotten food in the back seat.

It probably isn't true in all cases, but that is my experience.
If I can smell a guy because he needs to shower, I think he's a nasty arse. As for farting, if women think farts are nasty, that's on them.

Selfishly I like the fact that we don't allow women to be gross. I think its a great standard to have.

Same reason I forbid my gf from farting or shitting in front of me! I need to see her as sweet, graceful, and inviting.. my own sweet angel. Foul body odor, hairy armpits, smelly farts, would not accomplish this. Quite the opposite..
