It isn't "random". It has been going through spikes and troughs throughout the entire situation---like every other virus and similar pandemic, ever.

Spoiler alert: It will continue to do so, regardless of vaccination rate or any measure implemented. It will never stop, and it will never be eradicated.

This is why all of these mandates, mask orders, shutdowns, etc. are absolutely retarded, and have been from the jump. We cannot stop it, and trying to slow it down (and thereby doing nothing but prolonging the negative impacts) is destroying the economy.

America has gone back to living life, more people are traveling, getting together. Covid rates are spiking in unvaccinated youth, who aren't really affected.

Because young people have finally been able to be social again. Summer camps, bars and restaurants, and events.

Most of that stuff (with the exception of summer camps) has been open in my area since like March.

There is no point in asking these people that. They all think the exact same and any outsider's opinion is stupid. Welcome to Louisiana.

You're fricking retarded if you think this is the end all be all on why the number of vaccinations aren't higher. You're so triggered you sound like a moron.

two large groups are not getting vaccinated genius, blacks and those that do not have any sort of political affiliation and don't pay attention to politics.

Look it up.

Delta variant, people have gone back to normal since vaccine so more potential or spread, low vaccination rates in areas.

Pretty self-explanatory. Experts were predicting this spike a month or two ago, and this board laughed it off.

4th of July

They don't celebrate the 4th of July in the UK, for obvious reasons, and it's spiking there.

I believe it's a combination of two things. The first is that the recent Delta mutation is more contagious (and less deadly). The second is that many cities, which had seen a dearth of cases a few months ago, has much more interaction among its citizens now.

The vaccine does not prevent transmission of the virus. Also, the black people who are refusing the vaccine in larger numbers than any other demographic are not Trump voters.

COVID-19 mutated into a strain with a higher viral load (making it more contagious). And that strain is now prevalent here.

Most of the vaccines are still working as they should, as in you can still contract the virus but it’s far less likely to put you in the hospital or kill you.

But were people traveling back in March like people normally do during the summer, like they are now?

Trump has repeatedly said folks should get vaccinated.

As has been pointed out, Trump has encouraged people to get vaccinated.

Trump recognized and tried to tap in to a movement that includes, but is not limited to, vaccine skepticisim. But it's bigger than him and whatever control he may have once had is largely gone now.

A lot of people were back to treating it like a cold. Get it, get over it, move on. Testing went way down.

Then the delta variant news panic porn ramped up. So now people get a cold, which is all covid is for most people, and go get a test because DELTA aaahhhhggg! So reported numbers go up.

This thing ebbs and flows. Cause panic at the right time = more tests = more cases = more over the top reactions.

A lot of places went back to "normal" months ago and vaccination rates are higher than they've ever been right now.

I could've seen a spike in like May, for instance.

I’ve seen a ton more folks traveling than they were just a few months ago. And certainly a ton more than last summer. It’s probably closer to your typical summer travel at this point.

But that runs counter to the agenda of many lawmakers and elected officials. They want to be authoritarian. They like the media attention. They like the power. All you have to do is look at the governor of Louisiana to know that.
