Why does the Naacp think it should get involved in a SpaceX data center drama?

So for some reason the National arse. for the Adv. of Colored People is suing SpaceX over a data center. Didn't believe that was in their purview. How does this even concern them???

All of these “protests” against large corps moving into a new area is just grift for people to get paid off. Nobody gives a frick about poor people or the environment.
If you get enough support to make bad headlines, you will get a maintenance contract, or a donation to your “foundation” or some other band out.

There are many data centers building gas turbine co-generation.

Money, bro. They see it as a good opportunity to extort the tech companies. And they’re convinced that data centers are only being built in poor black areas just like the myth about the interstate system in the 50s and 60s.

They want some cheddar. Elon writes a check and employs some on the local board as some consultants, the suit disappears and Elon is now a friend.

The problem with XAI is that they ran them without a permit to do so or at least that's part of the allegation
As to why the NAACP would be involved it's probably because the location is near an area of predominantly black residences and the emissions from those gas turbines that were allegedly running illegally have possible links to increased respiratory related diseases in the area.
You may think the NAACP is a ridiculous organization but XAI brought this on themselves.

Now, due to pressure from groups such as the NAACP, data centers are moving out of cities and into rural areas. 67% of the planned centers are going rural, but, the flip side of the coin is that the jobs are going with them.
