People aren't flocking to Memphis, Jackson, or Montgomery. They are flocking to Nashville, Huntsville, and the Carolinas.

Louisiana, specifically Lake Charles, is the rarest place I've ever encountered in my entire life.
The lack of self-awareness on top of the defense of bad behavior is beyond anything a normal person could consider believable. The people would rather defend the behavior than correct it
Truth!

LA has some of the highest state taxes and lowest wage jobs. Brain drain is a real thing as most educated graduates leave the state for work never to return.

If I was able I’d move to another state. LA kind of sucks in everything. Except food.

Why aren't you able? Job or COL?

Its really bad though.
I look at those Lake Charles people and how they feel about Lake Charles like the far extreme leftist that refuse any real news and will put a swastika on your car while driving away in a Volkswagon.

Our governor just called us all failures as if he hasn’t been in a position of power for decades leading the fail.
Posted on 4/2/25 at 1:42 pm to RaoulDuke504
Because our lame arse governor allows insurance companies to RAPE Louisiana
Posted on 4/2/25 at 1:43 pm to RaoulDuke504
Because we got all them teeth and no toothbrush

It the racial tension in LA is very low in my personal experience. Politicians and community grifters try to rule it up, but in my experience there is very little racial tension in Southern LA

We are a satellite of Texas and supply them with labor. Tough to keep people when Texas is so much more attractive

Some states are destined to suck. Louisiana is the top dog in this category.
Louisiana has more natural competitive advantages than any other midsize SE state.
It’s a culture and corruption issue.

Look to the legislature.
Insurance rates.
Crime.
Poor education.
Their have been little efforts to rectify this and Louisiana citizens suffer.

So LA is the only Red state to lose people. Utterly fricking embarrassing. Landry is a hack, all the politicians at the state level are crooks. frick all of them.

- "Brain drain" - meaning, our college educated relocate (at least the smart ones do) to other states
- No jobs
- No industry
- It's too hard for outside businesses to relocate to Louisiana (too many hurdles needing to be cleared and sleazy, corrupt politicians permission needed or money funded to them)
- Abysmal education
- Abysmal crime
- Abysmal infrastructure
- Abysmal weather
- High taxes
- High insurance rate
- Louisiana citizens can be distrustful to outsiders
- Neighboring state, Texas, vastly superior in every category mentioned above

Yup.
Schools are not even worth discussing. Private schools in Louisiana might be as good as Texas public schools. Im serious.
