Why can't they all?
Cost of production and increased metal usage.
I can see that many name brand products have switched to pop tops, but the generics or store brands do not. Walmart I think on certain items have included it.

How you going to open your potted meat and Vienna sausage if you don’t have a P-38?
I’m 57 and have eaten my share of both. I honestly don’t remember a time when a can opener was needed to open either.

The OT truly is full of a holes that think everything they say has to be brash and witty instead of engaging in a conversation. The schtick gets old real quick.

Im older than you. Didn’t include :
BeanieWeanies
Spam
Chicken Soup
Canned Tuna
Indian Ridge Cocktail Shrimp
Autin’s Three Little Pig Sausage.
Etc.
I used that can opener plenty of times. Even to open beer if we didn’t have one of these.
Nothing had pop tops. Even beer and soda pop.

Is there a reason everything can't be converted to pop tops?
I went to feed our cats the other day and the pull tab broke off on the can. Had to use a can opener.

Makes no sense. A pop top is manual and doesn't require a prehistoric tool
Lots of elderly people don't have the strength to open pop top cans.

Because the cans that use can openers are really cheap so it makes the company more profit by using them
Posted on 2/2/24 at 7:16 pm to Fat and Happy
It's a fraction of a cent cheaper. I would gladly pay half a cent more for a pop top.

Open all of your cans before you leave the store. Then just put their opener back on the shelf.

Seriously ?
Are you trying to stab cans with big knives and rig em open for the rest of your life ?
Stop trolling
