I’m more concerned about breathing in those toxic plumes of spray sunscreen than I am about the actual sun.

They have creams that can be self applied. Also they get sprayed at a business and not a tanning bed.

Burning is more likely to cause cancer than tanning. I build my tan slowly in a bed a few weeks before summer, so I never actually burn once I get out in the sun. Just put sunscreen on my face, wear shades, and cover my bald melon with either a bucket hat or Bangora.

No different than people who smoke or regularly drink. They don't seem to understand the risks over time or generally don't worry about what doesn't happen immediately.

Or we understand the risks and choose to enjoy life anyways because something will kill all of us eventually

Crazy how humans have survived the sun since the beginning of time, huh?

99.999999% of that we were covered in a thick coat of hair.

The real question is, why did we evolve to be nearly hairless except for where padding and protection is needed? (Crotch and head.)

Exactly. I knew someone who was overly health conscious. Would always wear sunscreen, worked out constantly, never drank, smoked or ate red meat. Still died around 80. You got to enjoy life a little

My health conscious grandmother died at 83. Exercised daily, no smoking or drinking and ate healthy.

My other grandmother smokes a pack or more daily since she was 16, eats terrible, and drinks some and is still alive at 86 with hardly no health issues

Doesn’t comport with other mammalian evolution.

I’ve seen some research lately claiming that the sun doesn’t necessarily cause skin cancer on its own. But the shitty foods we consume seeps through the pores of our skin and when the sun contacts it, that’s what can cause cancer. They specifically mentioned seed oils which are absolute trash and causes other health problems too.

This was NOT the case in the era I'm talking about-------60's and onward. I did a lot of outdoor construction work and just about everybody I knew or worked with would show up in a t-shirt, jeans and work boots. The only thing you had on your face and arms at the end of the day was a layer of dirt.

Well back then, the negative effects of sun exposure was not well known among the general public due to the life expectancy being lower. As life expectancy increased over the decades, researchers saw more people being diagnosed with skin cancer.

Skin cancer didn’t become prevalent until the advent of sunscreen. All those chemicals lathered on your skin isn’t good.

What you are saying is pure blasphemy. Any board-certified dermatologist would slap you in the face if they heard you saying something as stupid as that.

Have you ever been to a dermatologist? The same people who inject Botox, lip filler, and prescribe something akin to bleach for "sun spots"?

I'm not arguing that too much sun causes skin cancer. I'm saying that sunscreen is absorbed through your skin and may cause other types of cancer, hormone disruption, etc. Google this. A lot of is is a chemical spill being put on your entire body.

The only person who needs to be slapped is you.
