I swear that every five minutes one of them will pull in front of me when I'm cruising up the left lane and proceed to pass the truck that's going 70 MPH in the right lane at 70.25 MPH, causing a line of traffic in the fast lane. I understand that they don't accelerate like a sedan, but I also know that they can certainly move a little faster than they do. What's the deal, OT truck drivers?

You try driving 8 hours a day without becoming a sadist.

Because they don't want to disengage their cruise control, just like every other jackass in the left lane blocking traffic.

They're doing 70.005 mph vs 70.003. takes a long time to pass at that rate

They weigh more than your prius. How do you not know this?

The trucks have GPS that relays info on their driving back to the company, and knows when they violate the speed limit

They have been given a heads up about a speed trap up ahead and go ahead and do a public service by getting side by side below the speed limit so nobody behind them gets tickets.

Every now and then, I see one guy hauling (relative) arse at 80mph or so, reckon they are violating transportation rules.

Many drivers are independent. They go out and and visit companies and offer their services.

This afternoon about 10 of us got stuck behind an Ambulance, with his lights on, traveling on HWY 90 in the left lane going 68-70. He would not move over to the right lane.

Most of us ended up going around him and getting in front of him, but what a fricking dick.

You have your sirens on but impeding traffic. You’re apparently not in an emergency situation so gtf out of the way.

Because to save costs, companies govern their rigs around 70mph. If both rigs are governed at the same speed, it takes a while to pass.

Those are just the big companies.

The owner operators don’t have GPS reporting to anyone

found the problem. the left lane is for passing, not cruising. if you were doing what you were supposed to do, then the semi would not have pulled in front of you

Bc their trucks are governed to only go up to a certain speed.

When did you go from the lovable drunk driver, to the sociopathic bore?

I thought there were some new stringent rules on all operators in recent years. Is that just hours logged?
