I thought there were some new stringent rules on all operators in recent years. Is that just hours logged?
Im not a truck driver, but i would assume its hours logged. And that's probably not tracked for independent drivers.

I think they have to maintain a distance of 20 ft behind you.
That's even if you're a prick and you jerk over in front of them.
Non independent truckers are (probably) monitored as tightly as commercial airline pilots.

Every car should be at least 3 car lengths behind other vehicles. That's around 60 ft.
If you dont stay 60 ft behind the car in front of you, you are a 15 year old girl.

*Most* trucks cant have handwritten logbooks documenting their running hours now. You have to install an electronic log which pretty much makes you adhere to the 11 on/10 off law. They had a weird deal where this change only applied to trucks with motors that were built after 1997. So all of the sudden lightly used 20 year old motors were in high demand.

Because to save costs, companies govern their rigs around 70mph. If both rigs are governed at the same speed, it takes a while to pass.
I understand this, but why dont they just slightly adjust their speed downward so that they dont have to pass?
I maintain a range of +/- 3 mph where I don't have to constantly pass people that are going 1 mph slower than me.

Most of us ended up going around him and getting in front of him, but what a fricking dick.
You have your sirens on but impeding traffic. You’re apparently not in an emergency situation so gtf out of the way.
Sounds like he was out of the way and you were the dick.

Believe it applies to all owner operators/independents also. At least in my industry

Most of them have a max set pedal speed lower than the cruise speed for fuel economy reasons so they can only pass on cruise.

Why not just drive your car across country?

I have a relative in logistics management and she says that the new rules drastically increased the price of freight. True or nah?
Posted on 5/28/19 at 7:38 pm to HempHead
It’s true but more because of driver shortage than regulations.

Yeah. There are a lot of 15 year old girls out there.

True that freight is higher. But I think logs are one piece of it. We have a booming economy and fuel prices have been volatile since the e-log mandate.

He’s wasn’t out of the way dick nose. He was camped out in the left lane going under the speed limit impeding traffic.
How was passing him in the right lane make me the dick?

They have been given a heads up about a speed trap up ahead and go ahead and do a public service by getting side by side below the speed limit so nobody behind them gets tickets.
Looks like we've got a convoy. It was the dark of the moon on the sixth of June in a Kenilworth pulling logs.

It doesn’t. You’re just a dick in general.
