Don’t have a clue. Career kind of steers me to Houston, but screw that. Waiting to see how much more popular remote working gets. My kids will be done with schooling soon. Once my elderly parents are gone, we aren’t tied to south La
The US is a huge country with a lot of incredible options depending on your interests and career options. No place is perfect, but there’s a lot of great places to live.

why does it keep drawing in tourist crowds?

It’s unique. You can’t get the same experience in Mobile AL or Savannah or other coastal cities, let alone places like Atlanta or Houston.
Worth the shenanigans? Starting to not be the case.

The New Orleans of 2023 is much worse than the New Orleans of 2018
The New Orleans of 2023 is much better than the New Orleans of 1993
I don’t know how y’all can stay this worked up and this negative all the time. It must be exhausting.

Of what? Being the largest slave market at one time in the US? That’s what 90% of New Orleans’ history revolves around
Really?
I’m not going to let your ignorance troll me into defending that place

Ha.
That’s weak. Try harder with the troll.
Just messing with you anyway.
OP is a mental midget and troll so I shouldn’t have participated in this thread

Aren’t you the one who has probably posted “but the food is great” 30 or so times in Nola bashing threads.
Legit 90% of his posts. “But what about the new pho restaurant” in any thread that starts shitting in NOLA.

What about them? I was never talking about Italians in the OP post. However, I definitely have respect for them.
Italians place heavy emphasis on family. When one family member is not doing well, the other ones will check in and help him out. They function as a team and are very money focused especially when it comes to family businesses. They obey the law, they respect law enforcement, and they have a strong work ethic.

It’s probably like going to Mexico or any other Central American country. Tourists see the good and fun stuff, and most don’t experience the bad. For example, when I was traveling to the resort in Costa Rica, some areas on the way were ghetto.
Lol you went to fricking costa rica. go to honduras or el salvador or fricking south america to venezuela.
What cities in costa rica are on the most dangerous cities in the world lists? Meanwhile st louis, baltimore and new orleans are.

You’re missing my point. I love the pho.
I’m talking about the poster NIH who has the same schtick of sarcastically saying “but where else can you walk to a bar” or “what about the new pho place” in any thread that starts shitting on New Orleans. It’s his whole routine.

Miami is awesome. Tons of hot Cuban/Latina girls in South Beach. Better food than New Orleans. Luxury high-rise condos and hotels. Much more exotic compared to NYC and LA. It’s expensive, but it’s worth visiting.
For a big city, Miami is pretty safe. Outside of the three hood weeks per year, you won’t have an issue. I love it here. Unlike nola, you don’t accidentally end up in the ghetto often at all.

Oh I completely agree, but people like the poster I was talking about get their upvotes from shitting on NOLA. That’s all they’re concerned about.
