Right now up here in Iowa, it’s rather pleasant. Makes up for the misery that is winter, however, this past winter was rather mild compared to 2021.

Even in Iowa, summer gets miserable in July and August. It gets almost as hot and humid as south Louisiana. Lived there 20+ years and in the south for 10+ years. I'm sick of the hot humid summers.

I did not like sitting in school all year as a child when it was warm and sunny outside. We usually had several make-up days (sometimes weeks) to make up for snow days lost in northeastern Kentucky. School would creep into June and we would still be sitting in those un-air conditioned classrooms longing for the freedom of summer.

I'm 54 now and work every day regardless of the season, but I still have that feeling of freedom in summer that remains with me from my childhood. Even the hottest, swampiest days spent fishing, riding bikes, or going to the pool are better than being stuck in a classroom all day.

I prefer the two weeks of spring and fall we get here in Louisiana.

it's not 95 degrees w/ high humidity everyday in most of the country

95 degrees in Chicago is much different than 95 degrees in Houston. Hell, 95 degrees in Atlanta is a lot different than 95 degrees in Houston. At least in the interior cities you get relief at night.

I like the themes and trappings of summer. Grilling, pool, vacation, hearing kids playing around the neighborhood, etc. It's all uplifting in a way, at least in my head.

And then I grill, go to the pool, on vacation, play with my kid, etc. when it's 93 degrees and humid and I want to die

I used to hate summer. Boating makes it tolerable... Love to hear these bad boys sing.

I lived there for my entire first two decades on earth; it is an horrific climate. The 4 months of winter were a beat down and I could not wait to leave. I’ve never lived above the mason dixon line since.

Not this guy. I find the older I get, the less tolerant I am of the summer heat and humidity.

I suppose if I lived in an area where the daily "Feels Like" temperature wasn't 104-110 for a couple months at a time and the humidity wasn't so high, I'd feel differently. But, living in the Gulf Coast area brings that kind of weather this time of year.

All I can say is thank goodness for A/C and ice.

Same here. I was redoing some wiring on my old pickup truck Tuesday and I was out there for a couple of hours. I was soaked from sweat after I got done. I came inside, took a shower and then a nap
